  1. 11. Atomic scale modeling of ordering phenomena in inorganic clathrates

    Författare :Mattias Ångqvist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ordering phenomena; Cluster expansion; Monte Carlo; Inorganic clathrates;

    Sammanfattning : Ordering phenomena in materials often have a crucial impact on materials properties. They are governed by the competition between entropy and energy. Accordingly simulating these aspects requires the construction of models that enable an computationally efficient exploration of the relevant configuration space. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Biomarkers of ionising radiation relevant to carcinogenesis : Dose, dose rate and LET dependency of the responses

    Författare :Milagrosa López Riego; Andrzej Wojcik; Lovisa Lundholm; Alexandros G. Georgakilas; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ionising radiation; low dose; low dose rate; linear energy transfer LET ; mixed beams; dose and dose rate effectiveness factor DDREF ; cancer; DNA damage response; biomarkers; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Sammanfattning : A better understanding of the relationship between ionising radiation (IR) dose, dose rate and radiation quality, and the risk of stochastic effects would improve risk extrapolation from atomic bomb survivors’ data. Owing to insufficient statistical power of epidemiological studies to detect excess incidence of cancer following low doses of IR delivered at low dose rates (LDLDR), as typically encountered in most common human exposure scenarios, radiobiological experiments are fundamental to describe the biological effectiveness of LDLDR and to define the underlying molecular mechanisms. 3. 13. Information-Flow Tracking for Dynamic Languages

    Författare :Luciano Bello; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; information security; information integrity; dependency analysis; information confidentiality; information flow; privacy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores information-flow tracking technologies and their applicability on industrial-scale dynamic programming languages. We aim to narrow the gap between the need for flexibility in current dynamic languages and the solid well-studied mechanisms from academia. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Den svenska aidsepidemin : Ankomst, bemötande, innebörd

    Författare :David Thorsén; Sven Widmalm; Annika Berg; Per Axelsson; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation investigates the public response to HIV/AIDS in Sweden in the 1980s and early 1990s. The analysis focuses on the National Commission on AIDS (NCA,“Aidsdelegationen”). LÄS MER

  5. 15. Coordination of Heavy-Duty Vehicle Platooning

    Författare :Sebastian van de Hoef; Dimos V. Dimarogonas; Simona Sacone; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; road freight transport; optimization; optimal control; automatic control; fuel-efficiency; match-making; off-board; intelligent transport systems; automated driving; clustering; scheduling; cooperative; large-scale; dynamic programming; trucks; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : A network-wide coordination system for heavy-duty vehicle platooning with the purpose of reducing fuel consumption is developed. Road freight is by far the dominating mode for overland transport with over 60 % modal share in the OECD countries and is thus critically important for the economy.
