  1. 16. Application of Laser-based Diagnostics to a Prototype Gas Turbine Burner at Selected Pressures

    Författare :Ronald Whiddon; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; OH; Laser Diagnostics; Elevated Pressure; Syngas; DLE; NOx; Combustion; Gas Turbine; PIV; PLIF; Pilot; SGT-750; Fysicumarkivet A:2014:Whiddon;

    Sammanfattning : The matured laser-diagnostic techniques of planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) and particle image velocimetry (PIV) were applied to a prototype gas turbine burner operating on various fuels. The work was performed to provide verification of computational fluid dynamic (CFD) models of the combustion of atypical fuels in a gas turbine combustor. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Experimental studies of the regulations of synthesis and release of tissue-type plasminogen activator from vascular endothelium

    Författare :Lena Selin Sjögren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tissue-type plasminogen activator; endothelium; fluid mechanical forces; shear stress; pressure; immunohistochemistry; gene expression;

    Sammanfattning : The fibrinolytic system has several important functions and one crucial function is the prevention and removal of fibrin deposits in blood vessels. Tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) plays a key role in this process, and in vitro data suggest that an acute release of t-PA is induced as a thromboprotective response whenever clotting mechanisms are initiated. 3. 18. Laser Diagnostics in Combustion - Elastic Scattering and Picosecond Laser-Induced Fluorescence

    Författare :Frederik Ossler; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Spray; Picosecond laser; Streak camera; Time resolved; Fluorescence lifetimes; 3 – D flow imaging; 2 - D lifetime imaging; Pressure; Temperature; Hydrogen atoms; Oxygen atoms; 3-pentanone; Acetone; Lorenz-Mie theory; Aerosol; Fysicumarkivet A:1999:Ossler; Scattering; Fysik; Physics; Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.;

    Sammanfattning : Elastic scattering and the Lorenz-Mie (LM) theory in particular is used for the characterization of sub-micron- and micron-sized droplets of organic fuels in sprays and aerosols. Calculations on the Lorenz- Mie theory show that backward-sideward scattered visible radiation can be used for unambiguous detection of ensembles of homogeneous droplets of organic substances with diameters around 1 micrometer (size parameter between 2 and 6). 4. 19. A Study on Endoscopic Live Donor Nephrectomy and Elevated Intraperitoneal Pressure

    Författare :Pernilla Lindström; Bengt Rippe; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Candesartan; cardiac output; glomerular filtration rate; hand-assisted laparoscopy; hand-assisted retroperitoneoscopy; kidney; living donor nephrectomy; morbidity; pneumoperitoneum; rat; renal transplantation; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Live donor nephrectomy (LDN) is a unique surgical challenge where surgery is performed on healthy individuals. It is of great importance to keep the morbidity of donors as low as possible, as well as harvesting a kidney in optimal condition. Lowering morbidity is the motive for introducing the endoscopic technique in LDN. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Psychosocial stress in relation to blood pressure and cardivascular disease - epidemiological and genetic aspects

    Författare :Bertil Öhlin; Internmedicin - epidemiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kardiovaskulära systemet; receptor; Cardiovascular system; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; adrenergic; alpha-2; beta-1; mortality; morbidity; prospective; studies; polymorphism; work; stress; blood pressure; hypertension;

    Sammanfattning : Psychosocial stress has been linked to both hypertension and cardiovascular disease (CVD), and hypertension has been proposed to be one mediator of the increased CVD risk in subjects reporting stress. Genetic susceptibility for blood pressure elevation in relation to stress has been proposed, but so far there is little evidence. LÄS MER
