  1. 11. Understanding mobile service diffusion as an evolutionary process: A study of the Swedish market

    Författare :Tsani Annafari; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; social evolution; mobile service; Innovation diffusion; variation; data granularity; diffusion modeling; selective retention;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to highlight the connections between the diffusion of innovation theory and the evolutionary models for technological changes within the context of mobile communication research. On the basis of empirical findings, the discussion focuses on addressing three research questions: Why should mobile service diffusion be understood as an evolutionary process? How should mobile service diffusion be explained and modelled using evolutionary conceptions? And in what way the evolutionary framework could influence future mobile service diffusion studies?Based on empirical observations and a literature study, this thesis argues that mobile service diffusion involves dynamic, developmental and historical economic process which is comparable to an evolutionary process. 2. 12. Diffusion of Water in Foods during Heating

    Författare :Karin Thorvaldsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; diffusion; mass transfer; mass transport; porous; water; moisture; heat; food;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this research was to improve the knowledge of diffusion of water in foods during heating, so that the final quality of foods after heat processing could be predicted and controlled. The work consisted of three main parts. The first part involved the development of a method to study the diffusion. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Stochastic Simulation of Multiscale Reaction-Diffusion Models via First Exit Times

    Författare :Lina Meinecke; Per Lötstedt; Stefan Engblom; Ramon Grima; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; computational systems biology; diffusion; first exit times; unstructured meshes; reaction-diffusion master equation; macromolecular crowding; excluded volume effects; finite element method; backward analysis; stochastic simulation; Beräkningsvetenskap med inriktning mot numerisk analys; Scientific Computing with specialization in Numerical Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Mathematical models are important tools in systems biology, since the regulatory networks in biological cells are too complicated to understand by biological experiments alone. Analytical solutions can be derived only for the simplest models and numerical simulations are necessary in most cases to evaluate the models and their properties and to compare them with measured data. 4. 14. The diffusion of a balanced scorecard in a divisionalized firm : Adoption and implementation in a practical context

    Författare :Simone Wenisch; Lars G. Hassel; Kerstin Nilsson; Marko Järvenpää; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Business studies; diffusion of innovations; intra-firm diffusion; management accounting change; Balanced Scorecard; network perspective; implementation process; Företagsekonomi; Business studies; Företagsekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Diffusion studies are commonly associated with the dissemination of innovations across legally and economically independent organizational units. Suggesting a new perspective on the existing diffusion literature, this thesis argues that diffusion of innovations is a relevant issue to study also on a (formally) micro–level of investigation. 5. 15. Flow injection systems for process analytical chemistry

    Författare :Ingrid Lukkari; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Flow injection; Sequential injection; Process analytical chemistry; Multivariate calibration; Sensor injection; Gas-diffusion; Sample clean-up;

    Sammanfattning : Flow injection systems have great potential for sample handling and analysis in process analytical chemistry. The flexibility and versatility of flow injection manifolds can he utilized in specific applications of sample conditioning and analysis. LÄS MER
