  1. 1. Moisture Transport in Porous Media. Modelling Based on Kirchhoff Potentials

    Författare :Jesper Arfvidsson; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; moisture distribtion; wood drying; wood; diffusion coefficient; numerical modelling; moisture flow; Moisture; transient measurements; periodic boundary condition; penetration depth; sorption coefficient; non-linear moisture flow; calculation model; anisitropy; Kirchhoff potentials; evaluation; moisture transport; Building construction; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is focused on the development of the new concept to describe isothermal moisture transport using Kirchhoff potentials. The first four papers deal with moisture transport in porous media using Kirchhoff potentials. The last three papers deal with wood. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Metoder att välja korrektioner vid fuktberäkningar med variabelt utomhusklimat

    Författare :Eva Harderup; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; moisture flow; Moisture; numerical modelling; calculation model; moisture distribution; non-linear moisture flow; external climate; moisture calculations; corrections; Building construction; periodic boundary condition; reference year; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Determination of the design conditions for moisture resistance requires in a Moisture Design number of different moisture calculations to be made in order to determine the moisture status within, or on the surface of, a structure. The objective of this work has been to ascertain how to allow for variations in climate data in order to be able to determine the most unfavourable moisture status likely to be encountered during the life of a building. 3. 3. On Sahelian-Sudan rainfall and its moisture sources

    Författare :Abubakr A. M. Salih; Qiong Zhang; Michael Tjernström; Alessandra Giannini; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sudan; Sahel; rainfall; land use; deforestation; moisture sources; moisture transport; Lagrangian; moisture tagging; regional model; climate modeling; atmosfärvetenskap och oceanografi; Atmospheric Sciences and Oceanography;

    Sammanfattning : The African Sahel is one of the most vulnerable regions to climate variability at different time scales. It is an arid to semi-arid region with limited water resources. The summer rainfall is one of these sources, but it exhibits pronounced interannual variability. This thesis presents several aspects of Sahelian Sudan rainfall. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Moisture permeability of mature concrete, cement mortar and cement paste

    Författare :Göran Hedenblad; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; moisture transport; cement paste; moisture permeability; concrete; moisture flow; cement mortar;

    Sammanfattning : Moisture permeability tests were performed on specimens of concrete, cement mortar and cement paste with the bottom side in water or in moist air and the upper side in a relative humidity of 33 %. The distribution of the relative humidity within the specimen was measured, at stationary conditions, as well as the amount of water which pass through the specimen. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Moisture conditions in rain exposed wood joints - Experimental methods and laboratory measurements

    Författare :Maria Fredriksson; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; wood; moisture; durability; service life; microclimate; surface moisture; mositure content; Norway spruce; Picea abies; pressure plate; decay; growth ring width; heartwood;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the moisture conditions in rain exposed wood structures, i.e. wood exposed to high moisture levels. The focus was on the microclimate (the climate at the wood surface) and the material climate (the wood moisture content) in joints. LÄS MER
