  1. 1. Continuous improvement and experience feedback in off-site construction : timber-framed module prefabrication

    Författare :John Meiling; Micke Oostra; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Träbyggnad; Timber Structures; Construction Engineering and Management; Byggproduktion;

    Sammanfattning : Continuous improvement implies an incremental, ongoing effort to improve products, services or processes. Some construction companies have chosen to face competition by adopting an off-site construction strategy, one form of which is timber-framed module prefabrication. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Reversible architecture : Reuse of timber building parts in circular design

    Författare :Margherita Lisco; Avdelningen för Byggproduktion; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; reuse; circular design; building parts; design for disassembly; design for adaptability; timber;

    Sammanfattning : The construction industry has a great impact on the environment but there is a great potential for improvements. In the era of climate change, sustainable construction methods and ecological solutions are required to improve energyefficiency, and to decrease the environmental impact of housing development. 3. 3. The hygrothermal inertia of massive timber connstructions

    Författare :Stéphane Hameury; Ove Söderström; Carsten Rode; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; 1H MRI; Building simulation environment; Heat buffering capacity; Heavy timber construction; Indoor climate; In-situ measurement; Magnetic Resonance Imaging; Building manufacturing engineering; Byggproduktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this Doctoral dissertation concerns the ability of heavy timber structures to passively reduce the fluctuations of the indoor temperature and of the indoor relative humidity, through the dynamic process of heat and moisture storage in wood. We make the hypothesis that the potential offered by the hygrothermal inertia of heavy timber structures is significant, and that it could provide a passive way of regulating the indoor climate. 4. 4. Diffusion of systemic innovations in the construction sector

    Författare :John Lindgren; Stephen Emmitt; Kristian Widén; Fawzi Halila; Jack Goulding; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Construction Sector; Innovation Diffusion; Systemic Innovation; Knowledge Integration; Knowledge Development;

    Sammanfattning : The amount of research dealing with innovation has increased dramatically, construction management research included. This thesis focuses on innovations with inter-organizational effects, systemic innovations, which may radically change and improve the construction process. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Modular long-span timber structures : a systematic framework for buildable construction

    Författare :Anders Björnfot; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Träbyggnad; Timber Structures;

    Sammanfattning : One of the identified reasons for the low amount of timber construction in Sweden is a general lack of knowledge about timber engineering and how timber can be used to its full advantage. One way for increased timber construction is the development of a cost-efficient and easy to comprehend building system. LÄS MER
