  1. 1. Breathtaking Greenhouse Parastructures : a supplement to the Arcades Project from a Caribbean Perspective [and a call for a careful practice of epistemológica]

    Författare :Luis Berríos-Negrón; Leif Dahlberg; Håkan Nilsson; Florian Dombois; Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; greenhouse; colonial memory; phenomenotechnologies; global warming; sculpture; installation art; Art; Technology and Design; Konst; teknik och design;

    Sammanfattning : Breathtaking Greenhouse Parastructures is a doctoral work that supplements the unfinished modern opus The Arcades Project [in German Das Passagen-Werk (Mit Bindestrich und Werk mit Capital W) ]. The supplement takes the form of a sculptural, historical, and technological deposition of ‘greenhouse’ that presently oscillates between a past-background and future-foreground to Walter Benjamin's ‘theatrical’ handling of the Parisian arcades. Sammanfattning : Most of the devastating diseases such as cancer are relatively incurable and have high risks of relapse. Therefore, persistent endeavors have been devoted to improve patient survival rate and quality of life. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Exploring Polymer-Shelled Microbubbles: Detection Modeling and Application

    Författare :Hongjian Chen; Dmitry Grishenkov; Birgitta Janerot-Sjöberg; Tomas Jansson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ultrasound contrast agent; polymer-shelled microbubble; ultrasound imaging; contrast pulse sequence; microbubble model; hydrodynamic cavitation; Technology and Health; Teknik och hälsa;

    Sammanfattning : Ultrasound imaging (US) is widely used in clinical practice. Given the low cost and easy access to the ultrasound machine, US has a great potential to improve the health care condition for the majority of the population in the world. The US could be significantly improved by injecting ultrasound contrast agents to opacify the bloodstream. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Theoretical Studies on CO2 Reduction Electrocatalysts

    Författare :Xiaoyu Chen; Mårten S. G. Ahlquist; Sandra Luber; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computational Chemistry; CO2 reduction; electrocatalysis; Teoretisk kemi och biologi; Theoretical Chemistry and Biology;

    Sammanfattning : The atmospheric CO2 concentration has increased by more than 20% since 1980s and has now reached the highest level than at any point in the past 800 000 years. Electrochemical CO2 reductions are receiving particular in- terest as the apparatus are relatively easy to maintain and cheap to operate. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Deactivation of emission control catalysts for heavy-duty vehicles : Impact of biofuel and lube oil-derived contaminants

    Författare :Sandra Dahlin; Lars Pettersson; Isabella Nova; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NH3-SCR; Cu-SSZ-13; V2O5-WO3 TiO2; catalyst deactivation; diesel oxidation catalyst; sulfur; phosphorus; biodiesel; heavy-duty; emission control; regeneration; alkali metals; NH3-SCR; Cu-SSZ-13; V2O5-WO3 TiO2; katalysatordeaktivering; dieseloxidationskatalysator; svavel; fosfor; biodiesel; tunga dieselmotorer; avgasrening; regenerering; alkalimetaller; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Catalytic emission control is used to reduce the negative impact of pollutants from diesel exhausts on our health and on the environment. For a heavy-duty truck, such a system consists of a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), a diesel particulate filter (DPF), a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst, and an ammonia slip catalyst (ASC).
