16. Liquid Sensing : Development and Characterisation of an Electronic Tongue Based on Electrochemical Methods
Sammanfattning : A new sensor technology for liquid sensing is reported, i.e. the electronic tongue based on electrochemical methods. Such a system involves the combination of non-selective sensors (metal electrodes) and a signal processing part. LÄS MER
17. Within-species variation in grass weeds in Sweden : dormancy, herbicide response, genetic relationships
Sammanfattning : Variation within a weed species enables it to persist through varying conditions and is thus an important component of weediness. In this thesis, intra-specific variation in two agronomically important attributes - herbicide susceptibility and seed dormancy - are studied in Swedish Apera spica-venti (L.) Beauv. and Alopecurus myosuroides Huds. LÄS MER
18. Psykosociala riskgraviditeter och deras utfall
Sammanfattning : The present study describes a prospective survey of an index-group of78 pregnant women, who during pregnancy met with certain arbitrarily selected, but well defined criteria associated with drug addiction, moderate mental insufficiency or particular social circumstances of possible relevance to the course of pregnancy and early child development. For comparison, a referencegroup of 78 pregnant women who did not meet the present inclusion criteria, were studied in equal detail. LÄS MER
19. Ventilation of a Model Hydro-Generator, An Experimental and Numerical Study
Sammanfattning : Generators are sophisticated machines used to convert the mechanical energy of a prime mover into electrical energy. Electromagnetic and mechanical losses accompany this energy conversion process. Cooling systems remove the heat, generated by losses, from these machines. LÄS MER
20. On the Assessment of Internal Erosion of Dam Cores of Glacial Till
Sammanfattning : The objective of this study is twofold; on the one hand it investigates the susceptibility to suffusion of glacial till, and, on the other, it presents approaches to evaluate internal erosion susceptibility of dams composed of this type of core soil. Concentrated leak erosion, backward erosion, contact erosion, and suffusion erosion are the mechanisms associated with the initiation of internal erosion. LÄS MER
