11. Laser powder bed fusion processing and heat treatment of Ni-base superalloys: microstructure and properties
Sammanfattning : Nickel-base superalloys are indispensable materials for the energy and aerospace industries. The additive manufacturing (AM) of these materials by powder bed fusion – laser beam (PBF-LB) presents a valuable opportunity to improve component performance and ease manufacturing and supply chain complexity in these industries. 12. Microstructure Evolution and Mechanical Properties of Haynes 282
Sammanfattning : Precipitation-hardened nickel-based superalloys find wide applications in aero engines and land-based gas turbines due to a combination of properties such as high temperature strength, resistance to oxidation and corrosion, fabricability, and creep strength. Structural engine components are traditionally cast to achieve higher degree of geometrical design freedom. LÄS MER
13. Correlating structure of (arabino)xylans and their derivatives to dispersibility and film properties
Sammanfattning : Wood glucuronoxylans and wheat bran arabinoxylan represent significant sources of underutilized natural polymers. In this work, I aim to address a key challenge to their effective valorization, which is their complex chemical-structure-property relationship. LÄS MER
14. Phase separation in duplex stainless steel: characterization and mitigation
Sammanfattning : Duplex stainless steel (DSS) is a category of widely used stainlesssteel, which are strategically important in a variety of applications such asin the food industry, chemical engineering plants and nuclear power plants, due to their attractive combination of mechanical properties and corrosionresistance. However, these steel grades are sensitive to the so-called ‘475°Cembrittlement’, because of a phase separation (PS) phenomenon in theferrite phase, which decomposes into Fe-rich ferrite (α) and Cr-rich ferrite(α'), when exposed to temperatures within the miscibility gap. 15. Phase-field modeling of stress-induced precipitation and kinetics in engineering metals
Sammanfattning : The formation of brittle compounds in metals operating in corrosive environments can be a tremendous source of embrittlement for industrial structures and such phenomenon is commonly enhanced in presence of stresses. To study this type of microstructural change modeling is preferred to experiment to reduce costs and prevent undesirable environmental impacts. LÄS MER
