  1. 11. Psychological responses to noise and vibration

    Författare :Jessica Körning-Ljungberg; Greg Neely; Ronnie Lundström; Kerstin Persson Waye; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Psychology; Cognitive; Cortisol; Noise; Vibration; Occupational; Vehicle; Weinstein; Occupational; Vehicle; Weinstein; Weinstein; Psykologi; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Vehicle drivers are a group of workers that are exposed to noise and whole-body vibration (WBV) several hours a day. Some drivers may also be exposed to high mental loads – monitoring and manipulating physical controls while engaging problem solving activities often with strong short-term memory and spatial manipulation components. 2. 12. Control of Static Series Compensator for Mitigation of Power Quality Problems

    Författare :Hilmy Awad; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Power Electronics and Advanced Control technologies have made it possible to mitigate the power quality problems and maintain the operation of sensitive loads. Among power system disturbances, voltage dips, swells, and harmonics are some of the severe problems to the critical industrial loads. LÄS MER

  3. 13. The effect of inelastic deformation on crack loading

    Författare :Dimosthenis Floros; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Numerical simulation; Mixed mode; Configurational mechanics; Gradient plasticity;

    Sammanfattning : Rolling contact fatigue (RCF) cracks in rails are among the most detrimental railway track defects, in relation to reliability and cost. The cracks grow in a mixed mode II & III, which in combination with the rotating stress field in the neighborhood of the crack-tip, large plastic deformations on the rail surface, crack face friction due to the compressive stresses from the wheel load and anisotropic crack growth resistance, add to the complexity related to the study of RCF cracks. 4. 14. Attenuation of Oxidative Stress, Inflammation and Colorectal Oncogenesis by Food Constituents: Ischaemia/Reperfusion Injury and Induced Colitis in Rodents

    Författare :Åsa Håkansson; Avdelningen för livsmedel och läkemedel; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Colorectal cancer; Ischaemia Reperfusion; Rose hips; Colitis; Probiotics; Inflammation; Blueberry;

    Sammanfattning : The enteric microbiota is increasingly implicated as a central factor in the development of intestinal inflammation in humans and experimental animals, and the intestinal environment is considered important in both colorectal cancer development and modulation of mucosal immunity. Diet-induced changes in the different populations of the intestinal microbiota can be achieved by use of probiotic bacteria, dietary fibre and berries rich in phenolic compounds. LÄS MER

  5. 15. A study on wear characteristics of high strength steels under sliding contact

    Författare :Abdulbaset Mussa; Pavel Krakhmalev; Jens Bergström; Jens Hardell; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High strength steels; thread joint wear; punch wear; sliding wear; surface cracking; reciprocal sliding; fatigue; surface delamination; white etching layer; nano-structured layer; friction; Materialteknik; Materials Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In the last decades, significant improvements regarding the design, materials and technology of rock drills have been made. Likewise, in sheet metal forming, forming tools experience very high contact pressures when processing high strength steel sheets. LÄS MER
