  1. 26. Fibroblast growth factor-23 and Klotho in bone/mineral and parathyroid disorders

    Författare :Tijana Krajisnik; Tobias E. Larsson; Kenneth B. Jonsson; Östen Ljunggren; Peyman Björklund; Gunnar Sterner; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; calcitriol; chronic kidney disease; CKD; chronic renal failure; fibroblast growth factor 23; fibroblast growth factor-23; FGF23; FGF-23; GalNac-T3; GALNT3; GFR; hyperostosis-hyperphosphatemia syndrome; HHS; Klotho; parathyroid hormone; PTH; hyperparathyroidism; pHPT; sHPT; uremic; vitamin D3; Endocrinology; Endokrinologi; Internal Medicine; invärtesmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF23) is a novel, bone-produced hormone that regulates renal phosphate (Pi) reabsorption and calcitriol metabolism. Disorders of mineral and bone metabolism, such as autosomal dominant hypophosphatemic rickets (ADHR) and hyperostosis-hyperphosphatemia syndrome (HHS), witness the importance of well-balanced serum levels of FGF23. 2. 27. Perioperative acute kidney injury : risk factors and outcomes

    Författare :Daniel Hertzberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is defined as a sudden decrease in renal filtration function. It is common among critically ill patients and patients undergoing major surgery, especially cardiac surgery. AKI is defined by either an elevated serum creatinine (SCr) concentration or a decrease in urine production. LÄS MER

  3. 28. Proteome studies, with emphasis on the kidney glomerulus

    Författare :Sam Tryggvason; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Proteomics aims to link genes to protein expression and function. Proteomics is a very versatile and technology-dependent discipline and the development of mass spectrometry-based proteomics has advanced the understanding of the complex and dynamic nature of proteomes. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Complement-mediated kidney diseases: Genotype, phenotype and inhibition studies

    Författare :S.S. Aradottir; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; The complement system; factor B; factor D; danicopan; Atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome; C3 glomerulopathy; Membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis; genes; monozygotic twins;

    Sammanfattning : Complement-mediated kidney diseases are ultrarare conditions characterized by excess complement activation related in most cases to complement gene variants or circulating autoantibodies. These conditions are chronic and can lead to kidney failure. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Prognostication in heart failure across ejection fraction phenotypes and challenging subgroups : data from the Swedish heart failure registry

    Författare :Davide Stolfo; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The growing prevalence of heart failure (HF) worldwide determines an increasing burden on healthcare systems. HF phenotypes differ for several patient characteristics. LÄS MER
