  1. 1. Condensation irrigation : a combined system for desalination and irrigation

    Författare :Jenny Lindblom; M. Thameur Chaibi; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vattenteknik; Water Resources Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Condensation Irrigation (CI) is a new irrigation method that combines desalination and subsurface irrigation by making use of saline water for supplying clean irrigation. In this system, solar stills are used for evaporating non-potable water, and the formed vapour heats and humidifies the ambient air above the water surface. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Condensation irrigation : simulations of heat and mass transfer

    Författare :Jenny Lindblom; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vattenteknik; Water Resources Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : There is a growing water demand in the world. Along with the deterioration of existing water supplies, the escalating world population leads to the assumption that two out of three people will lack sufficient freshwater by the year 2025. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Irrigation water management : A performance study of the Rahad scheme in Sudan, 1977-1996

    Författare :Nighisty Ghezae; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The central objectives of this study is to assess the performance of irrigation water management of the Rahad scheme in Sudan between 1977 and 1996. The study assesses how well the scheme has succeeded in achieving irrigation management objectives using the criteria of productivity, equity, cost recovery and environmental stability. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Water Realities and Development Trajectories : Global and Local Agricultural Production Dynamics

    Författare :Mats Lannerstad; Jan Lundqvist; Malin Falkenmark; David Molden; Paul Appasamy; Linköpings universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Water constraints for humans and nature are gaining more and more public attention as a critical environmental dilemma that needs to be addressed. When aquifers and rivers are running dry, the debate refers to an ongoing “world water crisis”. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Basin-scale change in water availability and water quality under intensified irrigated agriculture

    Författare :Rebecka Törnqvist; Jerker Jarsjö; Marcel van der Perk; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Irrigation; Hydrology; Land-use change; Basin-scale; Central Asia; Aral Sea; Semi-arid; Return flow; Water saving; Health risk; Water quality; Surface water; Groundwater; Nitrogen; Attenuation; Recirculation; Climate change; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : Changes in land use and water use can greatly impact the cycling of water and water-borne substances. Increased redistribution of river water to irrigated fields can cause enhanced evapotranspiration and decreased river discharge. LÄS MER
