  1. 1. An Embodied Account of Action Prediction

    Författare :Claudia Elsner; Gustaf Gredebäck; Claes von Hofsten; Amanda L. Woodward; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Action prediction; biological motion; direct-matching; embodied simulation; eye movements; eye-tracking; give-me gesture; mirror neuron; motor cortex; point-light; social interaction; TMS; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Being able to generate predictions about what is going to happen next while observing other people’s actions plays a crucial role in our daily lives. Different theoretical explanations for the underlying processes of humans’ action prediction abilities have been suggested. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Gaze Based Human Intention Analysis

    Författare :Julius Pettersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; eye tracking; psychological testing; Virtual reality VR ; deep machine learning; human intention prediction; collaborative robots; uncertainty estimation; time series analysis;

    Sammanfattning : The ability to determine an upcoming action or what decision a human is about to take, can be useful in multiple areas, for example during human-robot collaboration in manufacturing, where knowing the intent of the operator could provide the robot with important information to help it navigate more safely. Another field that could benefit from a system that provides information regarding human intentions is the field of psychological testing where such a system could be used as a platform for new research or be one way to provide information in the diagnostic process. 3. 3. Predictive Eye Movements During Action Observation in Infancy : Understanding the Processes Behind Action Prediction

    Författare :Dorota Green; Gustaf Gredebäck; Claes von Hofsten; Bennet I. Bertenthal; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Action prediction; action understanding; eye movements; eye-tracking; culture; infnacy; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Being able to predict the goal of other people’s actions is an important aspect of our daily lives. This ability allows us to interact timely with others and adjust our behaviour appropriately.The general aim of the present thesis was to explore which processes best explain our ability to predict other people’s action goals during development. 4. 4. Off-line Foveated Compression and Scene Perception: An Eye-Tracking Approach

    Författare :Marcus Nyström; Humanistlaboratoriet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; gaze prediction; off-line foveation; scene perception; eye-tracking; compression;

    Sammanfattning : With the continued growth of digital services offering storage and communication of pictorial information, the need to efficiently represent this information has become increasingly important, both from an information theoretic and a perceptual point of view. There has been a recent interest to design systems for efficient representation and compression of image and video data that take the features of the human visual system into account. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Biases in Visual Selective Attention : Trait Anxious Individuals Avert Their Gaze From Unpleasant Stimuli

    Författare :Jean-Christophe Rohner; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; eye-movements; attentional biases; Anxiety; attention; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Cognitive models of anxiety postulate that anxious individuals are inclined to pay more attention to negative than to positive emotional visual stimuli. The main aim of the present dissertation was to test this prediction, employing a measure of the direction of gaze. LÄS MER
