21. Impact of Glass Formation on the Thermal Stability of Non-Fullerene Solar Cells
Sammanfattning : The world is facing immense challenges such as climate change and the depletion of non-renewable resources, making renewable sources of energy essential for a sustainable future. Organic solar cells are emerging as a promising technology; however, their stability requires significant improvement. LÄS MER
22. Layer formation on quartz particles during fluidized bed combustion/gasification of woody biomass
Sammanfattning : The formation of sticky layers on bed particles has been considered as a prerequisite for bed agglomeration in fluidized bed combustion and gasification of woody fuels. In addition, the layer formed makes the bed particle less resistant against fragmentation. The fragments from quartz particles can result in deposition. LÄS MER
23. Simplified models for emission formation in diesel engines during transient operation
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is the result of the KTH CICERO project “Dynamic Engine Performance” in which the main objective was to develop simple models foremission formation. The demand for such models is increasing, mainly due to the tightening emission legislation for diesel engines which has lead to more complex engines and thereby more laborious development and calibration processes. 25. NOx formation in iron ore rotary kilns
Sammanfattning : Iron ore pellets are often produced using the so-called Grate-Kiln process, which is designed to oxidize the magnetite (Fe3O4) to hematite (Fe2O3) and to sinter the pellets so they can be used in steel manufacturing. The heat required for this process comes from the combustion of a pulverized fuel in a rotary kiln, involving the formation of a jet flame. LÄS MER
