  1. 21. Impact on the Distribution System due to Plug-In Electric Vehicles and Changes in Electricity Usage

    Författare :David Steen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle PHEV ; Electric vehicle EV ; Plug-in Electric Vehicle PEV ; Open loop radial distribution system; Electrical distribution system; Load management;

    Sammanfattning : Replacing conventional vehicles by Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs) would likely increase electricity demand and put higher stress on the electrical power system. This thesis presents an approach to evaluate the impact on electrical distribution systems (DSs) caused by charging PEVs and load management of heating loads. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Hydrogen in the European energy system - The cost dynamics and the value of time-shifting electricity generation

    Författare :Simon Öberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cost; energy systems modeling; Hydrogen; gas turbine; system dynamics; time-shifting;

    Sammanfattning : If the European Union is to become climate-neutral by Year 2050, as envisioned in the European Green Deal, the European energy system must undergo an unprecedented transformation towards eliminating its carbon emissions. For this transition, renewable electricity plays a central role, not only in replacing the current fossil-based electricity generation, but also in promoting the electrification of other sectors, such as transport and industry, sectors which are currently based on fossil fuels. 3. 23. To be or not to be: On system dynamics and the viability of mini-grids in rural electrification

    Författare :Elias Hartvigsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; system dynamics; rural electrification; reliability; mini-grids; complexity; load assessment;

    Sammanfattning : One to two billion people are expected to receive electricity access in developing countries in the coming decades. Many of these people will live in rural areas in developing countries where the existing grid will not be able to reach. These people will therefore rely on off-grid technologies to gain electricity access. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Decentralization in the electricity system: At the household, community and city levels

    Författare :Verena Heinisch; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Smart city; Storage systems; Power-to-heat; Optimization; Energy system modeling; Photovoltaic; Decentralization; Community energy; Prosumers;

    Sammanfattning : Recent years have seen a rise in the number of implementations of small-scale generation and storage technologies for electricity and heat at different levels in the energy system. This trend towards decentralization of the system is driven by rapid decrease in technology costs, as well as the intentions expressed by various stakeholders to contribute to a carbon-neutral energy system.
