  1. 6. Resource Allocation under Uncertainty : Applications in Mobile Communications

    Författare :Mathias Johansson; Anders Ahlén; Mikael Sternad; Vikram Krishnamurthy; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Signalbehandling; resource allocation; uncertainty; probability theory as logic; scheduling; multiuser diversity; Jaynes; maximum entropy; Bayesian probability theory; Signalbehandling; Signal processing; Signalbehandling; Signal Processing; signalbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with scheduling the use of resources, or allocating resources, so as to meet future demands for the entities produced by the resources. We consider applications in mobile communications such as scheduling users' transmissions so that the amount of transmitted information is maximized, and scenarios in the manufacturing industry where the task is to distribute work among production units so as to minimize the number of missed orders. 2. 7. Configuration Design of a High Performance and Responsive Manufacturing System : Modeling and Evaluation

    Författare :Daniel Tesfamariam Semere; Bengt Lindberg; Bolmsjö Gunnar; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Configuration; Modeling; Evaluation; Manufacturing engineering; Produktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Configuring and reconfiguring a manufacturing system is presented as an issue with increasing importance due to higher frequency of system configuration or major reconfigurations to accommodate new set of requirements and/or the need to configure the system to make it usable across generations of products or product families. This research has focused in the modeling, evaluation and selection decisions which involves multiple, incommensurate and conflicting objectives. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Leveraging supplier material data to inform LCA modelling and resource assessment in the automotive industry

    Författare :Felipe Bitencourt de Oliveira; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; life cycle assessment LCA ; vehicle gliders; metal availability; metal scarcity; life cycle inventory LCI ; automotive industry; International Material Data System IMDS ;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the application of supplier material composition data from the automotive industry's International Material Data System (IMDS) to inform sustainability assessments. A methodology is developed to systematically extract and process IMDS data for use in life cycle assessment (LCA) modelling. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Application of Statistical Methods on Occupational Health and Safety Management in the Mining Industry in Ezhou City, China

    Författare :Bao Jiangdong; Jan Johansson; Jingdong Zhang; Mattias Elg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Arbetsvetenskap; Human Work Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Chinaʹs mining enterprises are confronted with insufficient safety investments, insufficientsafety benefits, recurrent occupational diseases and accidents, low level of safety riskmanagement, and many employee complaints, that seriously affect the economicdevelopment and the sustainable development of the country. Selection of scientific, accurateand comprehensive evaluation methods of all aspects of occupational health and safetymanagement will directly affect the evaluation results and then the direction of improvement;which is greatly needed. 5. 10. An Entropy-based Modeling Approach to Internally Interconnected TMP Refining Processes

    Författare :Karin Eriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : A successful control strategy for a thermomechanical pulp (TMP) production line must deal with continuous operation as well as uniform high-quality product aspects. The ability to formulate a control strategy of this kind can be considerably enhanced by the availability of relevant process models. LÄS MER
