Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with scheduling the use of resources, or allocating resources, so as to meet future demands for the entities produced by the resources. We consider applications in mobile communications such as scheduling users' transmissions so that the amount of transmitted information is maximized, and scenarios in the manufacturing industry where the task is to distribute work among production units so as to minimize the number of missed orders. Sammanfattning : Radars equipped with an Electronically Scanned Antenna (ESA) have the potential of directing the electromagnetic radar beam without mechanically adjusting the antenna. Furthermore, the beam can be redirected instantaneously towards any location in space. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : Revenue maximization for network operators is considered as a criterion for resource allocation in wireless cellular networks. A business model encompassing service level agreements between network operators and service providers is presented. LÄS MER
4. Device-to-Device Communication in Future Cellular Networks : Resource allocation and mode selection
Sammanfattning : The widespread use of smart devices and mobile applications is leading to a massive growth of wireless data traffic. Supporting the upcoming demands of data volume, communication rate, and system capacity requires reconsideration of the existing network architecture. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : Wireless cooperative networks, which is based on exploiting coordination among multiple access nodes, has been considered as a promising approach to improve the spectral efficiency, reduce the energy consumption, and extend the network coverage of future wireless communication systems. In practice, the actual benefit of multi-node cooperation is affected by a variety of factors, including the quality of channel state information (CSI), the constraints on the feedback and backhaul links, hardware impairments, resource allocation and data processing schemes.
