21. Upper limb function in children with cerebral palsy : range of motion, botulinum neurotoxin A and accelerometry metrics
Sammanfattning : Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common cause of movement disorders in children and may result in diverse levels of severity of the disability, from very mild to very severe. The underlying neurological pathology in CP is by definition not progressive, but motor symptoms may cause permanent and progressive secondary movement complications, which often change over time. 22. Left ventricular dysfunction in critically ill patients
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Background: Cardiac dysfunction is common in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients and can contribute to multiorgan failure and death. Despite this, few studies have been performed on pathogenies, prevalence, diagnosis and impact on mortality in unselected ICU patients. LÄS MER
23. Distributed control of electric drives via Ehernet
Sammanfattning : This report presents the work carried out aiming towardsdistributed control of electric drives through a networkcommunication medium with temporal constraints, i.e, Ethernet.A general analysis on time delayed systems is carried out, using state space representation of systems in the discretetime domain. 24. Dynamics of Fast Ions in Tokamaks
Sammanfattning : Fast ions play a prominent role in the heating of tokamak plasmas by, e.g., neutral- beam injection, ion-cyclotron-resonance heating, and alpha-particle heating. In this thesis, a number of physical and mathematical problems concerning the dynamics of fast ions in tokamaks are addressed. LÄS MER
25. Chip-based magnetic levitation of superconducting microparticles
Sammanfattning : Magnetically levitated superconductors are extremely isolated from the environment, their mechanical properties can be tuned magnetically, and can be coupled to quantum systems such as superconducting quantum circuits. As such, they are a promising experimental platform for the creation of massive spatial quantum states that would test quantum mechanics in a hitherto unexplored parameter regime. LÄS MER
