1. Asymmetric Hydrogenations using N, P - Ligated Iridium Complexes
Sammanfattning : The research described in this thesis focuses on the catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation of prochiral olefins using N, P – chelated iridium catalysts. This catalytic system is tolerant to a wide range of substrates and performs better than the well-known ruthenium- and rhodium-catalytic systems for substrates devoid of coordinating groups in proximity of the olefin. Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the development of a novel organocatalytic method for the synthesis of chiral allyl- and propargyl- organoboron compounds with high enantioselectivity. The first transformation deals with the development of palladium-catalyzed selective allylic trifluoroacetoxylation reactions based on C-H functionalization, whereas the second comprises the synthesis and isolation of allylboronic acids using diboronic acid B2(OH)4 as boron source.
