41. Heat transfer in falling film evaporation of black liquor - Experiments and theory
Sammanfattning : Pulp and paper industry uses a large part of the total amount of energy in industry in Sweden. The evaporation plant has the major energy demand in the kraft pulp mill, which is the dominant type of chemical pulp mill. Previous studies have shown potential to decrease the live steam demand for the pulp process, e.g. LÄS MER
42. Heat Transfer and Hydrodynamics in Falling Film Evaporation of Black Liquor
Sammanfattning : The evaporation plant is one of the major steam consumers in kraft pulp mills, which are the dominant type of chemical pulp mill in Sweden. Previous studies have shown potential to decrease the live steam demand for the pulp process, e.g. LÄS MER
43. Thermodynamic Modelling of Electrolyte Solutions with Application to the Pulp and Paper Industry
Sammanfattning : A thermodynamic model for electrolyte solutions has been derived for binary and multicomponent solutions up to very high molalities. The model was extensively tested on 163 binary aqueous electrolyte systems up to very high molalities, and the results show that the model represents mean ionic activity coefficients and osmotic coefficients very accurately. 44. Opportunities for CO2 Reductions and CO2-Lean Energy Systems in Pulp and Paper Mills
Sammanfattning : The risk for climate change is a growing concern for theglobal society. According to what is known as the Kyoto Protocol, developed countries have committed themselves to reduce theirgreenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The purpose of this thesis hasbeen to analyse opportunities for CO2 reductions in Swedish pulpand paper mills. LÄS MER
45. Process intensification in mechanical pulping : Reduced process complexity and improved energy efficiency
Sammanfattning : This work shows that, for newsprint quality grades, the production processes for mechanical pulp can be simplified, and the specific electrical energy demand can be reduced with around 600 kWh/ton (30%). The purpose of the work is to demonstrate how the production cost for mechanical pulps can be decreased through increased energy efficiency and reduced number of unit operations. LÄS MER
