  1. 1. Heat Transfer and Hydrodynamics in Falling Film Evaporation of Black Liquor

    Författare :Miriam Johansson; [2008]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; correlation; black liquor; turbulence; hydrodynamics; kraft pulp mill; falling film; Heat transfer; evaporation; experimental; evaporator;

    Sammanfattning : The evaporation plant is one of the major steam consumers in kraft pulp mills, which are the dominant type of chemical pulp mill in Sweden. Previous studies have shown potential to decrease the live steam demand for the pulp process, e.g. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Hydrodynamics considerations in cells systems from ocean flow to perfusion cultivation process

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm, Sweden : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Författare :Caijuan Zhan; KTH.; [2019]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Microorganism; cells; hydrodynamics; turbulence; numerical simulation; CFD; Resonance; Wave bioreactor; ATF; TFF; perfusion; design feeding strategy; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Sammanfattning : Microorganisms and animal cells are grown surrounded by fluid, which is providing them with nutrients and removing their waste products. In nature and industry processes, cells/microbes can be subject to aggressive environments, such as turbulent flow or shear flow. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Fluid and suspension hydrodynamics in the impeller discharge flow of stirred tanks

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Kemiteknik

    Författare :Ziyun Yu; KTH.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :hydrodynamics; stirred tank; phase Doppler anemometer;

    Sammanfattning : The hydrodynamics of an agitated tank have been studied byphase-Doppler anemometry. The focus is on the impeller anddischarge region of a 45o pitched blade turbine (PBT). Thestudy includes agitation of pure water as well as of a dilutesuspension of process particles. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : In the present thesis, “Hydrodynamics of Binary Bose-Einstein Condensates and Hydro-elasticity of the Inner Crust of Neutron Stars”, the hydrodynamic effects, instabilities and superfluid turbulence in binary immiscible ultracold gases, and hydro-elastic macroscopic coupled modes and microscopic structure of the inner layers of the crust of neutron stars, are studied. The ultracold gas dynamics can be realized in the laboratory. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Design and development of a novel textile based bioreactor: Ethanol and biogas production as case studies

    Detta är en avhandling från Borås : Högskolan i Borås

    Författare :Osagie Alex Osadolor; Högskolan i Borås.; [2018]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bioethanol; biogas; bioreactor; bioreactor design; techno-economic analysis; membrane stress analysis; mass transfer; hydrodynamics; Resource Recovery; Resursåtervinning;

    Sammanfattning : Bioreactors are designed to provide enabling conditions for the controlled growth of microorganisms, such as good heat and mass transfer, aeration, hydrodynamics, geometry for adequate gas holdup, pH and foaming control, conditions for optimal substrate consumption and product formation, as well as mechanisms for monitoring microbial conditions. Additionally, bioreactors are designed to handle stress that would be exerted on them by the weight of the fermenting media and by the high pressure used for sterilisation. LÄS MER
