  1. 1. Optical Diagnostics of Non-thermal Plasmas and Plasma-assisted Combustion

    Författare :Jiajian Zhu; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; High-speed photography; Laser diagnostics; Planar laser-induced fluorescence; Plasma-assisted combustion; Non-thermal plasmas; Gliding arc discharge; Optical diagnostics; Particle tracking velocimetry; Fysicumarkivet A:2015:Zhu;

    Sammanfattning : Non-thermal plasma is regarded as a collection of free electrons, ions and neutral particles that are not at local thermodynamic equilibrium. The high-energetic electrons formed in non-thermal plasmas are capable of generating chemically active species and modifying chemical kinetics in practical applications. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Glaucoma Diagnostics

    Författare :Sabina Andersson; Oftalmologi (Malmö); []
    Nyckelord :POAG – glaucoma – diagnostic accuracy – screening – subjective assessment – population-based – GDx VCC – OCT – HRT – FDT – ONH assessment – CME – ANN – artificial neural network – visual field assessment;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses several aspects of glaucoma diagnostics from both a clinical and a screening perspective. New instruments for diagnosing glaucoma have been developed over the past years, but little information is available regarding their performance as screening methods and their usefulness in ordinary clinical practice. 3. 3. Optical Diagnostics of Soot in Combusting Sprays

    Författare :Raul Lima Ochoterena; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Optical diagnostics.; Laser Induced Incandescence LII ; Elastic Light Scattering ELS ; Soot formation; Flame temperature; Spray combustion; Light Extinction LE ;

    Sammanfattning : Optical diagnostics in combusting diesel sprays were carried out in the Chalmers High Pressure, High Temperature (HP/HT) spray rig at conditions similar to those in an internal combustion engine, reaching up to 100 bar and 630 ◦ C. Spray development studies and combustion characterisation were done by high speed shadowgraphs that were digitally processed to measure the start of combustion, break-up, droplets and vapour penetration. 4. 4. Laser diode systems for photodynamic therapy and medical diagnostics

    Författare :Eva Samsöe Andersen; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quasi-phasematching; photodynamic therapy; laser-induced fluorescence; medical laser systems.; Histology; cytochemistry; histochemistry; tissue culture; Histologi; Laserteknik; Laser technology; cytokemi; histokemi; vävnadskultur; Diagnostik; Diagnostics; second harmonic generation; pulsed lasers; spatial filtering; Diode lasers; optical feedback; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Samsöe Andersen;

    Sammanfattning : This work concerns techniques for improvement of the coherence properties of diode lasers so that they may be used in two specific medical applications: (Interstitial) photodynamic therapy (PDT) and laser-induced fluorescence diagnostics. In the first application, spatial coherence is crucial, since the treatment light should be delivered through relatively thin optical fibers to optimize treatment and to facilitate minimally invasive treatment.
