16. Magnetic properties of Neogene regional dikes from east Iceland with special reference to magma flow
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with rock magnetic measurements on Neogene dikes from the eastern fjords of Iceland. A vast amount of dikes generally striking north-north-east occur as swarms in the glacially eroded lava pile. LÄS MER
17. Origin of the Kleva Ni-Cu sulphide mineralisation in Småland, southeast Sweden
Sammanfattning : The Kleva Ni-Cu sulphide deposit is situated within a gabbro-diorite intrusive complex in southeast Sweden. The basement north of the intrusive complex is dominated by 1.81–1.77 Ga granites of the Palaeoproterozoic Transscandinavian Igneous Belt (TIB). LÄS MER
18. Geochemical and geochronological constraints on 1.88 and 1.80 Ga magmatic events in the Gällivare area, northern Sweden
Sammanfattning : The Gällivare area is situated in northern Norrbotten, Sweden, and hosts the Aitik Cu-Au deposit and the Malmberget Fe deposit. In addition, more than 17 mineral prospects and mineralizations are present, among these the currently developed Nautanen Cu-Au deposit. LÄS MER
19. Volcanism at the tip of a propagating rift : the Heimaey volcanic centre, south Iceland
Sammanfattning : Primary magmas are generated by 4-6% partial melting near the garnet-spinel stability fields beneath Heimaey (i.e. 80-65 km depth). The magmas fractionate 31% olivine and clinopyroxene en-route to ponding at the base of the crust (and forming a parental Vestmannaeyjar magma). LÄS MER
20. Magnetic anisotropy and paleomagnetism of precambrian rocks in the Fennoscandian shield
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents three applications of the anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) technique, dealing with tectonic and magmatic flow fabrics of Proterozoic igneous rocks in the central and northern parts of the Fennoscandian Shield. Paleomagnetic measurements were performed in attempts to put the different rock units into a geological and plate tectonic context. LÄS MER
