  1. 1. Modelling of Electric Arc Welding : arc-electrode coupling

    Författare :Alireza Javidi Shirvan; Isabelle Choquet; Håkan Nilsson; Alexei Heintz; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electric welding; arc welding simulation; electrode; plasma; cathode layer; sheath; arc discharge; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Arc welding still requires deeper process understanding and more accurateprediction of the heat transferred to the base metal. This can be provided by CFD modelling.Most works done to model arc discharge using CFD consider the arc corealone. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Modelling of cathode-plasma interaction in short high-intensity electric arc : Application to Gas Tungsten Arc Welding

    Författare :Alireza Javidi Shirvan; Isabelle Choquet; Håkan Nilsson; Armelle Vardelle; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electric arc discharge; sheath; pre-sheath; Knudsen layer; doped refractory cathode; arc-cathode coupling; Gas Tungsten Arc simulation; OpenFOAM.; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In arc welding the quality of the weld is strongly influenced by the thermal history of the workpiece which is itself governed by the electric arc heat source. The models for predicting weld properties thus need a good evaluation of the distribution of the heat input from thearc to the workpiece. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Magma generation and formation of continental crust in the Izu arc

    Författare :Haochen Duan; Abigail Barker; Jaroslaw Majka; Stefan Wastegård; Kate Saunders; Susanne M. Straub; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Oceanic arc; Izu rear-arc; Melt inlcusions; Oxygen isotopes; Boron isotopes; Continental crust; Mantle hererogeneity; In-situ microanalysis; IMS-1280; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : The Izu oceanic arc is produced by the subduction of the Pacific Sea Plate beneath the Philippine Sea Plate. The proto-Izu oceanic arc was initially formed at ca. 50 Ma, then it was separated into the Kyushu-Palau and Izu arc by the extension of the Shikoku basin from ca. 25 Ma. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cathodic arc deposition process

    Författare :Muhammad Bilal Syed; Magnus Odén; Jianqiang Zhu; Lars Hultman; Zdeněk Hubička; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to expand the knowledge of fundamental mechanisms that govern the cathodic arc process. The first part of this thesis explores and explains the correlations between a rather unexplored process parameter (i.e. cathode microstructure) and the microstructure of the coatings. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Metal fusion using pulsed GasMetal Arc : Melt pool modellingand CFD simulation

    Författare :Pradip Aryal; Isabelle Choquet; Muriel Carin; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Gas metal arc; Electromagnetic force modelling; Free surface deformation; Computational Fluid Dynamics; OpenFOAM; Gasmetallbågsvetsning; Svetsläge; Elektromagnetiskkraftmodellering; Smältytans rörelser; Computational Fluid Dynamics; OpenFOAM; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Pulsed gas metal arc is a highly efficient technique used in manufacturing processes like welding and additive manufacturing. It offers high productivity and cost benefits but it is also prone to defect formation when process parameters are not properly controlled and optimized. LÄS MER
