17. Complicated vacuum extraction : focus on traction force
Sammanfattning : Introduction: Vacuum extraction is a common operative vaginal delivery in the final stage of labor, and generally considered a safe alternative to emergency cesarean section. However, there is insufficient evidence regarding the causes of the rare but severe perinatal complications that may occur, such as intracranial or subgaleal hemorrhage, and possibly also asphyxia related encephalopathy. 18. A concept for treatment of sports related knee injuries
Sammanfattning : The aim of the present thesis was, to evaluate local anaesthesia as ananaesthetic technique when performing knee arthroscopies, from a clinicaland economical point of view, and to describe the total costs for surgeryof knee injuries caused by sport activities in Stockholm. In a retrospective study of 6519 arthroscopies, we tried to estimate thefailure rate for knee arthroscopy in local anaesthesia compared to thesame procedure in general anaesthesia. LÄS MER
19. Breastfeeding and quality of care
Sammanfattning : The over all objectives of this thesis was to map factors of importance for breastfeeding such as maternal background factors, maternal perception of breastfeeding support, confidence, caring routines, breastfeeding attitudes of health care professionals, and to investigate whether a training intervention within the care team of the antenatal (ANC) and child health centres (CHC) would improve maternal perception of support and strengthen maternal feelings for the baby. 20. Inter-hospital transports of critically ill children
Sammanfattning : There is an increasing need for inter-hospital transports of seriously ill children as a result of centralization of intensive care for children to dedicated pediatric intensive care units (PICU). This thesis has explored the short-and long-term outcomes of critically ill children after transport by a specialized pediatric transport team to a PICU. LÄS MER
