1. Hierarchical Structuring of Mg2Si1-xSnx Alloys for Lower Thermal Conductivity and Thermal Conductivity as Probe for Structural Characterization
Sammanfattning : The thermoelectric effect was discovered nearly 200 years ago, but it started to be utilized for waste heat recovery fairly recently. From the economical point of view, such application requires a cheap and efficient material, which is able to convert heat energy into electricity. LÄS MER
2. High temperature properties of polycrystalline Mo(Si,Al)2: compression and oxidation
Sammanfattning : Electrification of industrial heating processes holds great promise for reducing CO2 emissions. Large furnaces operating at elevated temperatures and in demanding atmospheres are complicated but indeed important to electrify. LÄS MER
3. Atom Probe Tomography of Hard Nitride and Boride Thin Films
Sammanfattning : Hard ceramic thin films, including TiSiN, ZrAlN, ZrB2, and ZrTaB2, with applications for wear-resistant coatings, have been studied using atom probe tomography and correlated with several other analytical techniques, including X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, and elastic recoil detection analysis. Outstanding obstacles for quantitative atom probe tomography of ceramic thin films have been surmounted. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The thermoelectric effect was discovered nearly 200 years ago, but it started to be utilized for waste heat recovery only fairly recently. From an economical point of view, such applications requires a cheap and efficient material, which is able to convert heat energy into electricity. LÄS MER
5. On the processing of starch consolidated high speed steel - Microstructure and tribological properties
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on processing of high speed steel (HSS) powder into components using starch consolidation (SC) and supersolidus liquid phase sintering (SLPS). The work consists of four parts. First, the possibilities and constrains of the SC process are investigated and the role of starch in the green body fabrication clarified. LÄS MER
