  1. 6. Corrosion of steel bars in fibre reinforced concrete: corrosion mechanisms and structural performance

    Författare :Carlos Gil Berrocal; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; residual flexural capacity; chloride-induced corrosion; electrical resistivity; Fibre reinforced concrete; reinforcement bond; durability; cracking;

    Sammanfattning : The viability of employing fibre reinforcement to improve the durability performance of RC structures by delaying and/or reducing rebar corrosion and by mitigating the structural impact of corrosion-induced damage have been investigated. Given the enhanced crack control of FRC, it could be advantageous to use fibres in civil engineering structures to decrease the ingress of corrosion-initiation substances. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Development of connections for fibre reinforced bridge elements and an analysis of sustainability

    Författare :Valbona Mara; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bridge; insert; connection; deck; FRP; bolt; joint; fibre reinforced polymer; LCC; LCA;

    Sammanfattning : The deterioration of existing bridge structures due to a number of causes has led researchersto pursue new construction materials with high performance, such as fibre reinforced polymer(FRP) composite materials. The inherent properties of FRP materials are their light weight,high strength and high resistance to aggressive environments. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Structural assessment procedures for existing concrete bridges : Experiences from failure tests of the Kiruna Bridge

    Författare :Niklas Bagge; Björn Täljsten; Paulo Cruz; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Anchorage; carbon fibre reinforced polymers; concrete; existing bridges; finite element analysis; flexure; full-scale test; load-carrying capacity; residual prestress force; punching; safety verification; shear; structural assessment; structural behaviour; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Assessing existing bridges is an important task in the sustainable management ofinfrastructure. In practice, structural bridge assessments are usually conducted usingtraditional and standardised methods, despite knowledge that these methods oftenprovide conservative estimates. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Effects of Steel Fibres on Cracking in Reinforced Concrete

    Författare :Anette M Jansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; uniaxial tension test; Keywords: Self-compacting; characteristic crack width; fibre-reinforced; bond; tension stiffening; Digital Image Correlation; pull-out test;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACTAlthough it is well known that fibre reinforcement acts as a crack arresting agent, there is still a need for deeper knowledge of the actual cracking behaviour, especially regarding cracks with widths smaller than 0.3mm. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Strengthening reinforced concrete structures with FRP composites

    Författare :Jincheng Yang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; GFRP; finite element analysis.; corrosion; interfacial stress; externally bonded reinforcement; self-anchorage; CFRP; debonding; concrete structures; Fibre reinforced polymer; prestressing level;

    Sammanfattning : Civil infrastructures made of reinforced concrete (RC) play an important role in the economic activities and services of society. However, signs of deterioration and functional deficiency are commonly found in existing RC structures. Thus, there is a great demand for upgrading the capacity and performance of existing concrete structures. LÄS MER
