1. WIMP searches in an Effective Field Theory Framework from XENON1T to XENONnT
Sammanfattning : Observations from cosmology and astronomy suggest that most of the matter in the Universe is comprised of dark matter. In this thesis the evidence for dark matter and the possible candidates are explored, focusing on the Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) hypothesis. LÄS MER
2. From Quantum to Classical Scattering of Kerr Black Holes : A construction of massive higher-spin scattering amplitudes and their classical limits
Sammanfattning : Gravitational scattering processes involving black holes as asymptotic states can provide insight into the classical dynamics of binary black hole systems. The observed gravitational waves emitted during mergers need to be compared to high-precision theoretical predictions. LÄS MER
3. The data perspective on chiral effective field theory
Sammanfattning : The scientific method implies a dynamical relationship between experiment and theory. Indeed, experimental results are understood through theories, which themselves are of less value until confronted with experiment. LÄS MER
4. Extended Förster Theory of Electronic Energy Transport within Pairs of Reorienting Chromophoric Molecules
Sammanfattning : An extended Förster theory (EFT), previously derived (L. B.-Å. Johansson et al. LÄS MER
5. On the quantitative analysis of electronic energy transfer/migration in proteins studied by fluorescence spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Two recently developed theories of electronic energy transfer/migration were for the first time applied to real protein systems for extracting molecular distances. The partial donor-donor energy migration (PDDEM) is an extension to the previously developed donor-donor energy migration (DDEM, F Bergström et al PNAS 96, 1999, 12477) which allows using chemically identical but photophysically different fluorophores in energy migration experiments.
