6. FEM Modelling of Micro-galvanic Corrosion in Al Alloys Induced by Intermetallic Particles : Exploration of Chemical and Geometrical Effects
Sammanfattning : Localized corrosion, such as pitting, crevice corrosion or galvanic corrosion, is a long-standing phenomenon that can greatly limit the life of metallic materials. For decades experimental methods have been used to try to understand the underlying physical, chemical and electrochemical processes that control localized corrosion in order to find effective protection methods against its propagation. 7. Mass and Heat Transport in Dryer Fabrics - Experiments and Modelling
Sammanfattning : A dryer fabric is used in the multi-cylinder dryer in order to improve the runnability of the web and to establish proper contact between the web and the hot cylinder, thus improving the heat transport. The dryer fabric separates the hot and moist paper from the ambient drying air and significantly influences the mass and heat transport. LÄS MER
8. Discrete Element Modelling and Simulation of Vibratory Screens
Sammanfattning : In Sweden about 85 million tonnes aggregate is used for road, railway and concrete every year. Crushing is the main process for producing the aggregate material in different fractions. The crushing process is divided into two sub-processes; comminution and separation. LÄS MER
9. Modelling of Mass and Heat Transport in Paper - Evaluation of Mechanisms and Shrinkage
Sammanfattning : In this work a one-dimensional model for the mass and heat transport in the thickness direction of paper has been developed. Solid-based coordinates were applied to simplify incorporation of shrinkage. Liquid diffusion, gas convection and vapour and air diffusion were incorporated as mass transport mechansims. LÄS MER
10. NOx Adsorption and Transport in ZSM-5 Films
Sammanfattning : The present work dealt with a fundamental study of NOx adsorption-desorption and transport in ZSM-5 as films supported on cordierite monolith and as a part of composite membranes. The adsorption-desorption study was focused on developing a mechanistic understanding of NOx adsorption in ZSM-5 films including the effects of counter-ions, Si/Al ratios and film thicknesses on the adsorption.
