  1. 6. Anticipation and Attention in Robot Control

    Författare :Birger Johansson; Kognitionsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; eye-movements; visual field; tracking; occlusion; cognitive modelling; boebot; e-puck; color tracking; multi-agent; epistemic action; architecture; agent; robot; anticipation; attention; prediction;

    Sammanfattning : Anticipatory and predictive models are becoming very important features of robot systems. This thesis investigates some aspects of predictive modeling. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Visual attention during decision-making in natural environments

    Författare :Kerstin Gidlöf; Kognitionsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; decision-making; visual attention; process tracing; consumer behaviour;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates visual attention during decision-making in natural environments in four different studies. The first study demonstrated that decisions in the supermarket were suboptimal and this did not seem to relate to the amount of products attended to or the amount of time spent on each product. 3. 8. The impact of visually demanding near work on neck/shoulder discomfort and trapezius muscle activity : Laboratory studies

    Författare :Camilla Zetterberg; Hans O Richter; Mikael Forsman; Malin Josephson; Hanne Mari Schiøtz Thorud; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Accommodation; Asthenopia; Computer work; Eye-neck head stabilization; Muscle activity; Neck pain; Visual Attention; Visual demand; Visual ergonomics; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Musculoskeletal discomfort in the neck and shoulders is common among workers performing visually demanding near work, e.g., on a computer screen, and sustained low-level muscle activity during such work can lead to work-related pain. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Guided by Fear : Effects on attention and awareness

    Författare :Nathalie Peira; Stefan Wiens; Nazanin Derakhshan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Emotion; fear; attention; awareness; affective processing; heart rate; skin conductance; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Because the visual system has limited capacity, emotions such as fear may play an important role in guiding the selection of relevant input (LeDoux, 2000; Öhman & Mineka, 2001). The aim of the current thesis was to investigate how fear can guide the organism by influencing:  (I) attentional processes, (II) awareness of the visual input, and (III) affective processing independent of awareness. 5. 10. Symbol-based communication intervention for individuals with Rett syndrome : Current practices, assessment of visual attention, and communication partner strategies

    Författare :Helena Wandin; Karin Sonnander; Per Lindberg; Mariann Hedström; Jakob Åsberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; aided communication; augmentative and alternative communication AAC ; assessment tools; communication intervention; eye-gaze technology; partner strategies; Rett syndrome; visual attention; Hälso- och sjukvårdsforskning; Health Care Research;

    Sammanfattning : Individuals with Rett syndrome need extensive support to actively participate in social interaction and to develop their communication. The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate communication intervention for individuals with Rett syndrome, especially aided symbol-based communication and partner strategies. LÄS MER
