  1. 6. Functionalization and processing of porous powders into hierarchically porous monoliths

    Författare :Petr Vasiliev; Lennart Bergström; Yoshio Sakka; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Porous; zeolite; hierarchical; monolith; nanoparticle; functionalization; amorphization; PCP; SPS; pulsed current processing; spark plasma sintering.; Chemistry; Kemi; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Inorganic porous materials are widely used in a number of applications, where is a need to functionalize and produce materials with a multiscale porosity. The first part of the thesis describes how a novel and facile powder processing approach, using pulsed current processing (PCP) or, as it is commonly called, spark plasma sintering (SPS), has been employed to produce mechanically stable, hierarchically porous bodies from different porous powders. 2. 7. Synthesis, characterization and applications of hierarchical porous inorganic materials: a multi-dimensional approach

    Författare :Junzhong Lin; Junliang Sun; Xinwen Guo; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Zeolites; Porous material; Hierarchical; Synthesis; Catalysis; MFI zeolite; MWW zeolite; ZSM-5; TS-1; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Zeolites are a type of microporous crystalline materials that have been widely used in industrial applications including separation, adsorption, and catalysis. However, great limitations on diffusion through these materials can arise due to the small pores present in mircoporous frameworks, and this can impact catalytic reactions in particular. LÄS MER

  3. 8. A study of tailoring acoustic porous material properties when designing lightweight multilayered vehicle panels

    Författare :Eleonora Lind Nordgren; Peter Göransson; Olivier Dazel; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; porous material; optimization; Biot theory; acoustic wave propagation;

    Sammanfattning : The present work explores the possibilities of adapting poro-elastic lightweight acoustic materials to specific applications. More explicitly, a design approach is presented where finite element based numerical simulations are combined with optimization techniques to improve the dynamic and acoustic properties of lightweight multilayered panels containing poro-elastic acoustic materials. 4. 9. Push the limitations of crystal structure determination by 3D electron diffraction : From inorganic porous materials to biomolecules

    Författare :Jingjing Zhao; Xiaodong Zou; Hongyi Xu; Tim Grüne; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; electron crystallography; 3D electron diffraction; cryo-EM specimen preparation; structure determination; porous materials; biomolecules; fysikalisk kemi; Physical Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Structure elucidation is fundamental to understanding the chemical and physical properties of a material. Three-dimensional electron diffraction (3D ED) has shown great power for structure determination of nanometer- or submicrometer-sized crystals that are either too small or too complex for X-ray diffraction. Sammanfattning : In this thesis, porous graphitic carbon (PGC) has been used as packing material in packed capillary liquid chromatography. The unique chromatographic properties of PGC has been studied in some detail and applied to different analytical challenges using both electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) and ultra violet (UV) absorbance detection.
