1. Practical Deployment Aspects of Cell-Free Massive MIMO Networks
Sammanfattning : The ever-growing demand of wireless traffic poses a challenge for current cellular networks. Each new generation must find new ways to boost the network capacity and spectral efficiency (SE) per device. A pillar of 5G is massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) technology. LÄS MER
2. Estimation of Nonlinear Greybox Models for Marine Applications
Sammanfattning : As marine vessels are becoming increasingly autonomous, having accurate simulation models available is turning into an absolute necessity. This holds both for facilitation of development and for achieving satisfactory model-based control. LÄS MER
3. Distributed Coordination in Multiantenna Cellular Networks
Sammanfattning : Wireless communications are important in our highly connected world. The amount of data being transferred in cellular networks is steadily growing, and consequently more capacity is needed. This thesis considers the problem of downlink capacity improvement from the perspective of multicell coordination. LÄS MER
4. Preterm intraventricular haemorrhage - Effects of extracellular haemoglobin
Sammanfattning : Intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH) is the most common brain lesion in preterm infants and is most commonly seen in the sickest children, with 15-20% of very preterm infants developing IVH. The mortality of infants with severe IVH is 20-50 % in the neonatal period and over 50 % of surviving infants develop post-haemorrhagic ventricular dilatation (PHVD) and 40-80 % develop severe neurological impairment, mainly cerebral palsy and mental retardation. 5. Multi-platform metabolomics assays to study the responsiveness of the human plasma and lung lavage metabolome
Sammanfattning : Metabolomics as a field has been used to track changes and perturbations in the human body by investigating metabolite profiles indicating the change of metabolite levels over time and in response to different challenges. In this thesis work, the main focus was on applying multiplatform-metabolomics to study the human metabolome following exposure to perturbations, such as diet (in the form of a challenge meal) and exhaust emissions (air pollution exposure in a controlled setting).
