  1. 1. Do lighting control and user interface design matter to occupant behaviour? The case of optimal lighting use in non-residential buildings

    Författare :Pimkamol Mattsson; Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; characteristic; design; energy reduction; energy-saving behaviour; lighting control; light switch; lighting use; non-residential building; perception; user interface;

    Sammanfattning : The lowering of energy use from artificial lighting in buildings is vital to reaching the goal of reducing CO2 emissions. Hence, changes in individuals’ behaviours regarding lighting use have received increased attention. Feedback on energy use has often been used to change individuals’ behaviour. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Reducing water damage by using a holistic approach to costs, occurrence and solutions in buildings

    Författare :Christian Mattsson; Avdelningen för Installations- och klimatiseringslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Water damage; building defects; Tap water; Costs; Sewage; Heating; Leakage; Vattenskador: byggnader; byggnadsdefekt; kostnader; avlopp; värmesystem; läckage; tappvatten;

    Sammanfattning : A large amount of water damage cases and resources are annually reported and spent on water damage in Sweden from cases occurring in buildings from building services such as tap water-, sewage, heating systems, household appliances such as refrigerators, freezers and dishwashers and inadequate waterproof membranes in wet rooms. These water damage cases in buildings cause several problems in the built environment regarding economic, environmental, and social aspects of sustainability such as unhealthy indoor environments due to higher levels of moisture, mold growth, and redundant usage of building materials and resources in reparations and renovations of water damaged constructions, immense amounts of monetary resources spent annually by both residents, building owners and insurance companies to restore the buildings to their designed purpose. 3. 3. Modelling Energy Conservation and CO2 Mitigation in the European Building Stock

    Författare :Erika Mata Las Heras; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cost assessment; bottom-up building modelling; techno-economical potentials; archetype building; energy conservation measures; European building stock;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates energy conservation in building stocks with the aim of developing a methodology that can be applied to the national building stocks of the European Union (EU). For this purpose, a bottom-up building-stock model and a methodology for describing the building-stock have been established. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Communicating long-span timber structures with 3D computer visualization

    Författare :Henrik Janols; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Träbyggnad; Timber Structures;

    Sammanfattning : One of the reasons for the low amount of timber in construction is a general lack of knowledge about timber engineering and how timber can be used to its full advantage. In this thesis the focus is 3D computer visualisation (3D VIZ) of non-residential long-span timber structures, used for storage, industry and sports where 3D VIZ is defined as a process where a 3D-model is enhanced with environmental information e. 5. 5. Lighting Control Systems to Save Energy in the non-Residential Sector : State-of-the-art, Field Studies, and Simulations

    Författare :Niko Gentile; Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Indoor lighting; lighting control system; lighting control; energy sav; energy eff; user acceptan; degree of acceptance; human factor; occupancy strategy; presence strategy; absence strategy; daylight harvesting; daylight-linked; daylight; photoelectric dimming; photosensor; manual switch; functional illumination; standby;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the energy-saving potential for lighting when using traditional indoor LCSs in non-residential buildings. In the study, an overarching theoretical framework is used that distinguishes between energy efficiency and energy saving, as well as between energy use for lighting and functional illumination.
