  1. 21. Ion Current and Torque Modeling for Combustion Engine Control

    Författare :Ingemar Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Engine control development constantly requires more information about the combustion process, to meet present and future environmental regulations for vehicles. The demand for combustion monitoring and control from enginedevelopers drives the research in several parallel fields of technology to find the best and most cost effective sensor solution for each case. 2. 22. Dynamic characteristics of automobile exhaust system components

    Författare :Thomas Englund; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Correlation; Exhaust system; Experimental investigation; Finite element model; Flexible joint; Modal analysis; Non-linear; Simplified modelling; Structural dynamics; Updating;

    Sammanfattning : Demands on emission control, and low vibration and noise levels have made the design of automobile exhaust systems a much more complex task over the last few decades. This, combined with increasing competition in the automobile industry, has rendered physical prototype testing impractical as the main support for design decisions. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Studies of flow duct acoustics with applications to turbocharged engines

    Författare :Hans Rämmal; Hans Boden; Mats Åbom; Antonio Torregrosa; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; IC-engine; turbocharger; duct termination; flow duct; exhaust system; inlet system; acoustic source; one-port; two-port; source model; transmission loss; two-port matrix; reflection coefficient; source strength; multi-load method; Acoustics; Akustik;

    Sammanfattning : A number of experimental and theoretical studies, performed in the field of technical flow duct acoustics are presented in this thesis. The acoustical methods treated are implemented on turbocharged IC-engines and engine gas exchange system components. A new method based on the well-known two-load technique has been developed. 4. 24. Studies of MISiC-FET sensors for car exhaust gas monitoring

    Författare :Helena Wingbrant; Anita Lloyd Spetz; Martin Eickhoff; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; field effect sensor; gas detection; selective catalytic reduction; lambda; cold start; ammonia; silicon carbide; engine exhaust; Physics; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing size of the car fleet makes it important to find ways of lowering the amounts of pollutants from each individual diesel or gasoline engine to almost zero levels. The pollutants from these engines predominantly originate from emissions at cold start, in the case when gasoline is utilized, and high NOx emissions and particulates from diesel engines. LÄS MER

  5. 25. A simulation tool for optimising combustion engine cylinder liner surface texture

    Författare :Andrew Spencer; Martin Priest; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Maskinelement; Machine Elements;

    Sammanfattning : Fuel efficiency is one of the most important areas of automotive vehicle research and development today, with rising fuel costs, energy security and environmental concerns being at the forefront of customers and legislators minds. Heavy Duty Diesel Engines (HDDE) are the primary source of mechanical power generation in today’s trucks and buses and this is likely to continue for the foreseeable future. LÄS MER
