  1. 11. Advances In Heavy Vehicle Dynamics with Focus on Engine Mounts and Individual Front Suspension

    Författare :Hoda Yarmohamadi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vibration isolation; semi-active damper; handling; heavy vehicle; individual front suspension; nonlinear dynamic stiffness and damping; kinematics; adaptronic mounting system; engine mount; comfort;

    Sammanfattning : The main objective of the research presented in this thesis is to enhance driver comfort and handling of a heavy truck that in turn leads to better vehicle safety and stability. The focus has been put on studying two suspension systems of the truck, engine and front axle suspensions, due to their significant impact on the dynamic performance of the vehicle. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Turbine Outlet Guide Vane Flows

    Författare :Johan Hjärne; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Spalart-Allmaras model; k-ω SST model; linear cascade; secondary flows; turbine exhaust casing; RSM; k-ε realizable model; turbine rear frame; engine mount bump; tail bearing housing; Outlet guide vane;

    Sammanfattning : New design goals on modern jet engines often leads to more highly loaded turbines with fewer stages in order to save weight and cost. This gives higher swirl angles into the outlet guide vane (OGV), implying a more difficult aerodynamic design. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Model Based Fault Diagnosis : Methods, Theory, and Automotive Engine Applications

    Författare :Mattias Nyberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Model based fault diagnosis is to perform fault diagnosis by means of models. An important question is how to use the models to construct a diagnosis system. To develop a general theory for this, useful in real applications, is the topic of the first part of this thesis. LÄS MER

  4. 14. A pressure coupled Representative Interactive Linear Eddy Model (RILEM) for heavy-duty truck engine combustion simulations

    Författare :Nidal Doubiani; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Representative interactive linear eddy model; multiple LEM lines; turbulent chemistry interaction; pressure coupling; pollutants formation.;

    Sammanfattning : Internal combustion engines (ICE) are frequently debated due to their environmental consequences. Although the switch to electromobility is currently happening for light and medium-duty vessels, the transition for ships and heavy-duty trucks is more complex. The primary problem in the shift is the incapability of matching the range of ICE. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Control of HCCI by aid of Variable Valve Timings with Specialization in Usage of a Non-Linear Quasi-Static Compensation

    Författare :Fredrik Agrell; Hans-Erik Ångström; Wai K. Cheng; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HCCI; Homogeneous; Charge Compression Ignition; Engine Control; Variable Valve Timings; Other technology; Övriga teknikvetenskaper;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis is about controlling the combustion timing of the combustion concept Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition, HCCI, by means of variable valve timings. The HCCI research usually is regarded to have started in Japan during the later part of the 1970´s. The world of HCCI has since grown and HCCI is of today researched worldwide. LÄS MER
