11. Development of a geometallurgical framework for iron ores - A mineralogical approach to particle-based modeling
Sammanfattning : The demands for efficient utilization of ore bodies and proper risk management in the mining industry have resulted in a new cross-disciplinary subject called geometallurgy. Geometallurgy connects geological, mineral processing and subsequent downstream processing information together to provide a comprehensive model to be used in production planning and management. 12. Dendritic morphology and ultimate tensile strength of pearlitic lamellar graphite iron
Sammanfattning : The continued development, of cylinder blocks and cylinder heads for heavy truck engines that are made of lamellar graphite iron (LGI) is focused on achieving high ultimate tensile strength (UTS) whilst conforming to environmental regulations. The purpose of this work is to further improve the tensile strength as well as the predictive engineering tools for optimization of LGI aimed to enhance the efforts for producing lighter and sustainable components without sacrificing performance. 13. Iron and aluminium speciation in Swedish freshwaters : Implications for geochemical modelling
Sammanfattning : Speciation governs transport and toxicity of trace metals and is important to monitor in natural waters. Geochemical models that predict speciation are valuable tools for monitoring. They can be used for risk assessments and future scenarios such as termination of liming. LÄS MER
14. The Common Thread, Textile Production during the Late Iron Age and Viking Age
Sammanfattning : The initial aim of the present PhD thesis was to develop the method of classification for textile tools to facilitate the study of textile production in an archaeological context. The thesis consists of five separate projects and a concluding summary. The study covers the late Iron Age, mainly the Viking Period. LÄS MER
15. Stability Phenomena in Novel Electrode Materials for Lithium-ion Batteries
Sammanfattning : Li-ion batteries are not only a technology for the future, they are indeed already the technology of choice for today’s mobile phones, laptops and cordless power tools. Their ability to provide high energy densities inexpensively and in a way which conforms to modern environmental standards is constantly opening up new markets for these batteries. LÄS MER
