1. Melt spun piezoelectric textile fibres : an experimental study
Sammanfattning : Melt Spun Piezoelectric Textile Fibres - an Experimental Study ANJA LUND Department of Materials and Manufacturing Technology Chalmers University of Technology ABSTRACT The manufacturing and characterisation of piezoelectric textile fibres are described in this thesis. A piezoelectric material is one that generates an electric voltage when deformed, a property which exists in a number of materials. LÄS MER
2. Additive-Driven Improvements in Interfacial Properties and Processing of TMP-Polymer Composites
Sammanfattning : Efforts to address environmental concerns have resulted in new regulations designed to plan the reduction of plastic and synthetic polymer usage, necessitating the search for sustainable natural alternatives with comparable cost-effectiveness and mechanical performance. Thermomechanical pulp (TMP) fibres are one of the most affordable natural fibres that have no chemical refining in production, production have a high yield of 90-98% and TMP fibres have been demonstrated to improve the mechanical characteristics (strength, stiffness and toughness) of wood-polymer composites (WPCs) compared to the pure polymer. 3. Coagulation of Cellulose: from Ionic-Liquid Solution to Cellulose Nanostructure
Sammanfattning : Abstract A linear chain of glucose monomers, cellulose, provides the structural reinforcement of the cell walls of plants and constitutes almost half of their dry mass. Wood and other plant-based raw materials are processed on a large industrial scale to isolate the cellulose, which is then dissolved. LÄS MER
4. Textile Sound Design
Sammanfattning : There are a number of ways to describe the aesthetical expression of a textile, but how is it possible to express its sound affecting qualities? This thesis aims at developing conceptual and methodological tools in order to adapt sound within the textile design area. Occupational groups working with sound are to a large extent problem driven. 5. Electroanalytical devices with fluidic control using textile materials and methods
Sammanfattning : This thesis, written by Ingrid Öberg Månsson at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and entitled “Electroanalytical devices with fluidic control using textile materials and methods”, presents experimental studies on the development of textile based electronic devices and biosensors. One of the reasons why this is of interest is the growing demand for integrated smart products for wearable health monitoring or energy harvesting. LÄS MER
