  1. 26. Designing for added pedagogical value : A design-based research study of teachers’ educational design with ICT

    Författare :Jörgen Holmberg; Uno Fors; Göran Fransson; Jo Tondeur; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; added pedagogical value; design-based research; design framework; educational design; educational design research; EFL; ICT; teacher practice; TPACK; Information Society; informationssamhället; Innovative Learning;

    Sammanfattning : In an increasingly digitized world teachers are expected to take on the role of educational designers and use ICT to design in ways that add pedagogical value to teaching and learning. This thesis adopts a design-based research (DBR) approach to: (a) explore and contribute to the educational design processes of teachers of English as a foreign language in their efforts to use ICT for added pedagogical value, (b) examine how ICT is used in educational designs to create/contribute to what the teachers and students describe as added value and (c) explore, problematize and refine DBR as a research approach. 2. 27. Linking Programming to Representations : Understanding meaning-making in physics education through semiotic resources

    Författare :Kim Svensson; Nationellt Resurscentrum för Fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Social Semiotics; Programming; Transduction; Semiotic Resources; Representations; Transductive Link; Fysicumarkivet A:2022:Svensson; Social Semiotik; Programmering; Transduction; Semiotisk Resurs; Representationer; Transductiv Länk;

    Sammanfattning : Programming is investigated with a social semiotic lens to study how programming can contribute to meaning-making in physics. The analysis focuses on how new and dynamic representations can be created with the help of programming and how programming allows students to investigate and create their own models of physical phenomena. 3. 28. Biologisk mångfald i läroböcker i biologi

    Författare :Maria Ferlin; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; textbooks; biological diversity; social semiotics; multimodality; meaning making; concept; species; species concept; Utbildningsvetenskap med inriktning mot naturvetenskap; Textbooks; Biological diversity; Social semiotics; Multimodality; Meaning making; Concept; Species; Species concept;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to analyse offered meaning, that is, what and how subject content is communicated to the recipients. In this case the subject content is biological diversity and the communicative artefacts are biology books for the latter grades in the Swedish compulsory school. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Difficult to read or difficult to solve? : The role of natural language and other semiotic resources in mathematics tasks

    Författare :Anneli Dyrvold; Magnus Österholm; Ewa Bergqvist; Johan Lithner; Candia Morgan; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; mathematics education; multisemiotics; task text; difficulty; mathematical reading ability; matematikdidaktik; didactics of mathematics; Mathematics; Pedagogik; Linguistics;

    Sammanfattning : When students solve mathematics tasks, the tasks are commonly given as written text, usually consisting of natural language, mathematical notation and different types of images. This is one reason why reading and interpreting such texts are important parts of being mathematically proficient, at least within the school context. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Children’s early mathematics learning and development : Number game interventions and number line estimations

    Sammanfattning : Children’s early mathematics learning and development have become a topic of increasing interest over the past decade since early mathematical knowledge and skills have been shown to be a strong predictor of later mathematics performance. Understanding how children develop mathematical knowledge and skills and how they can be supported in their early learning could thus prove to be a vital component in promoting learning of more formal mathematics.
