  1. 6. Meso-Mechanical Modeling and Analysis of Adhesive Layers

    Författare :Kent Salomonsson; Ulf Stigh; Per Ståhle; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Adhesive layer; Meso-mechanical; Representative Volume Element; Large curvatures; Interphase elements; Evolution algorithm; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik; Technology; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with the modeling, simulation and analysis of adhesive layers. By use of an in situ scanning electron microscopy study it is found that the adhesive studied in the present thesis has a very complex structure with two different compounds, a mineral and an epoxy/thermoplastic blend. 2. 7. Large-eddy simulation on the effects of fuel injection pressure on gasoline spray characteristics

    Författare :Sandip Wadekar; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High pressure fuel-injection; GDI engine; LES; Spray characteristics;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing the injection pressure in gasoline direct injection engines has a substantial potential to reduce emissions while maintaining high efficiency in spark ignition engines. Present gasoline injectors operate at pressures of 20 to 30 MPa. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Transient Air to Fuel Ratio Response in a Fuel Injected S.I Engine

    Författare :Göran Almkvist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dynamic; A F; model; transient; air to fuel; response; time constant; film; behavior; lambda; time-delay; fuel; mass; deposit factor;

    Sammanfattning : Future emission standards make it necessary to focus on the conditions under which engine emissions are produced, especially before the catalyst light off. During practical driving conditions, such as those represented by the FTP 75 test cycle, the engine is operated very much under transient conditions regarding load and speed. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Model Calibration of Nonlinear Mechanical Systems Using Multi-Harmonic Frequency Response Functions

    Författare :Yousheng Chen; Andreas Linderholt; Thomas Abrahamsson; Ahlin Kjell; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; finite element model calibration; multi-harmonic frequency response function; Fisher information matrix; nonlinear structural dynamics; identifiability; data informativeness; Maskinteknik; Mechanical Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In industry, linear finite element models are commonly employed to represent global structural behavior. It is crucial that the computational models are able to accurately represent the structures’ behavior. This cannot always be achieved by the use of linear models. LÄS MER

  5. 10. The role of microstructure for crack propagation in cortical bone

    Författare :Anna Gustafsson; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Crack deflection; Interface; Mechanical testing; Micro-CT; Osteon; Porosity; XFEM;

    Sammanfattning : Healthy cortical bone tissue is both tough and strong and has a unique ability to resist fracture. One reason is the hierarchical structure of the tissue where toughening mechanisms at all length scales act to slow down or stop a propagating crack. LÄS MER
