2. The Impact of Bariatric Surgery on Obesity related Metabolic Traits with Specific Emphasis on Glucose, Insulin and Proinsulin
Sammanfattning : Hyperproinsulinemia is associated with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and obesity and is a predictor for future coronary heart disease. This thesis examines the effect of bariatric surgery on glucometabolic status including insulin and proinsulin responses after meal. LÄS MER
3. Interfaces in Dye-Sensitized Oxide / Hole-Conductor Heterojunctions for Solar Cell Applications
Sammanfattning : Nanoporous dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) are promising devices for solar to electric energy conversion. In this thesis photoelectron spectroscopy (PES), x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and photovoltaic measurements are used for studies of the key interfaces in the DSSC. LÄS MER
4. Electronic Structures and Energy Level Alignment in Mesoscopic Solar Cells : A Hard and Soft X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy Study
Sammanfattning : Photoelectron spectroscopy is an experimental method to study the electronic structure in matter. In this thesis, a combination of soft and hard X-ray based photoelectron spectroscopy has been used to obtain atomic level understanding of electronic structures and energy level alignments in mesoscopic solar cells. 5. Penile carcinoma : from first symptom to sexual function and life satisfaction following organ-sparing laser treatment
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to describe how patients with penile carcinoma experienced their symptoms, treatment seeking and the impact of the diagnosis and treatment on sexual function, sexual activity and life satisfaction. The thesis contains two studies of patients treated with organ-sparing laser therapy, a retrospective study (Papers II and III) of 46 patients treated between 1986-2000 and a prospective study (Papers I and IV) of 50 patients between 2005 and 2009 and additional 34 partners.
