  1. 11. On Physical Relations in Driving: Judgements, Cognition and Perception

    Författare :Gabriella Eriksson; Mäntylä Timo; Ola Svenson; Christopher Patten; Wändi Bruine de Bruin; Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Driver; Driving veh ; Cognition; Behaviour; Choice; Speed; Fuel consumption; Route itinerary ; Thesis; 841 Road: Road user behaviour; 841 Road: Road user behaviour; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : Drivers need to make judgements of physical relationships related to driving speed, such as mean speed, risks, travel time and fuel consumption, in order to make optimal choices of vehicle speed. This is also the case for the general public, politicians and other stakeholders who are engaged in traffic issues. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Challenges in Partially Automated Driving : A Human Factors Perspective

    Sammanfattning : Full deployment of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) on public roads is challenging for organizations in the automotive domain in terms of developing safety standards and methods while taking legacy assumptions related to having a human driver and increased complexity and complexity handling into account. Specifically, the safety of AVs in the presence of other road users must be guaranteed as far as possible for different traffic scenarios. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Road surface characterization using near infrared spectroscopy

    Författare :Johan Casselgren; Matti Kutila; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Spektroskopi; Väglagsklassificering; Friktion; Väglagskarakterisering; Experimental Mechanics; Experimentell mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a technology and method for classifying and characterizing different road conditions such as dry asphalt and asphalt covered with water, ice and snow. The method uses light sources of different wavelengths to illuminate the road surface and a detector to measure the reflected light from the road surfaces, dependent on how the surface have absorbed, scattered and polarized the light it is possible to classify the road condition.
