  1. 21. Energy Conversion and Particle Acceleration at Turbulent Plasma Jet Fronts

    Författare :Louis Richard; Yuri V. Khotyaintsev; Tomas Karlsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : High speed plasma flows (jets) are ubiquitous phenomena in the universe. For example, they carry energy from the most powerful sources (e.g active galactic nucleï AGN) to the medium at rest surrounding them. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Turbulent and neoclassical transport in tokamak plasmas

    Författare :Istvan Pusztai; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thermonuclear fusion; tokamaks; microinstabilities; transport analysis; isotope effect; impurity transport; neoclassical transport; transport barriers; turbulent transport;

    Sammanfattning : One of the greatest challenges of thermonuclear fusion is to understand, predict and to some extent control particle and energy transport in fusion plasmas. In the present thesis we consider theoretical and experimental aspects of collisional and turbulent transport in tokamak plasmas. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Evaluation of Modular Thermally Driven Heat Pump Systems

    Författare :Corey Blackman; Eva Thorin; Chris Bales; Christian Schweigler; Mälardalens universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sorption heat pump; sorption module; thermochemical energy storage; artificial neural network; built environment; solar energy; gas-driven heat pump; solar cooling; heating and cooling; renewable energy; energy efficiency; experimental; simulation; analytical; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik; Reesbe företagsforskarskola;

    Sammanfattning : The building sector accounts for approximately 40% of primary energy use within the European Union, therefore reductions in the energy use intensity of this sector are critical in decreasing total energy usage. Given that the majority of energy used within the built environment is for space conditioning and domestic hot water preparation, prudence would suggest that decreasing primary energy used for these end purposes would have the biggest overall environmental impact. 4. 24. Efficient heat supply and use from an energy-system and climate perspective

    Författare :Maria Danestig; Björn G. Karlsson; Dag Henning; Erik Dotzauer; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to illustrate whether the heat demand in district heating systems can be seen as a resource that enables efficient energy utilization, how this can be achieved and to discuss consequences of this assumption. Based on the answers to posed research questions and on the studies included in this thesis, it is concluded that the hypothesis “A common system approach for energy supply and heat demand will show climate and economic efficient solutions” is true. 5. 25. Demand response and distributed solar generation in the Swedish residential sector - A techno-economic evaluation

    Författare :Emil Nyholm; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Demand response; Distributed solar generation;

    Sammanfattning : There is an urgent need to transform the electricity system so as to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Among the possible pathways for such a transformation, the demand side of the electricity system is likely to take a more active role than it has historically. LÄS MER
