6. Response of human skeletal muscle to chronic and acute exercise and ischemia : muscle dimensions, tissue water and blood flow as measured by magnetic resonance imaging and comparative methods
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to investigate the response of human skeletal muscle to exercise, training and ischemi and to evaluate if magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) could be used to measure regional muscle cross-sectional area, muscle perfusion and detect muscle ischemia in patients with intermittent claudication. For this purpose studies were performed on 29 healthy young volunteers and 7 patients with intermittent claudication. LÄS MER
7. Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Hepatobiliary System Using Hepatocyte-Specific Contrast Media
Sammanfattning : There are two Gadolinium-based liver-specific contrast media for Magnetic Resonance Imaging on the market, Gd-BOPTA (MultiHance®, Bracco Imaging, Milan, Italy) and Gd-EOB-DTPA (Primovist®, Bayer Schering Pharma, Berlin, Germany). The aim of this study in two parts was to evaluate the dynamics of biliary, parenchymal and vascular enhancement using these contrast media in healthy subjects. LÄS MER
8. Tumour Targeting Using Radiolabelled EGF Conjugates : Preclinical Studies
Sammanfattning : Tumour targeted radiotherapy is an appealing approach for treatment of disseminated tumour cells. A targeting agent that specifically binds to a structure on tumour cells is then used to transport therapeutically relevant radionuclides. The epidermal growth factor receptor, EGFR, is overexpressed on tumour cells in several malignancies, e.g. LÄS MER
9. Pharmacokinetics and dosimetry of radiolabelled octreotide for tumour therapy
Sammanfattning : Somatostatin (SS) receptors (sstr) are usually highly expressed on neuroendocrine (NE) tumours. The radiolabelled SS analogue 111In-DTPA-D-Phe1-octreotide is today widely used to scintigraphically visualise NE tumours, and high 111In activity concentrations are obtained in tumour vs. normal tissues. 10. Metal-Chelate Complexes in Alkaline Solution : On Recovery Techniques and Cellulose-based Hybrid Material Synthesis
Sammanfattning : For decades, aminopolycarboxylate chelating agents have been extensively used in various industrial applications. The ability of chelating agents to form stable metal-chelate complexes is the main reason for using them to manage metal ions within water-based industrial processes. LÄS MER
