16. Asymptotic analysis of solutions to elliptic and parabolic problems
Sammanfattning : In the thesis we consider two types of problems. In Paper 1, we studysmall solutions to a time-independent nonlinear elliptic partial differential equation of Emden-Fowler type in a semi-infnite cylinder. The asymptotic behaviour of these solutions at infnity is determined. First, the equation under the Neumann boundary condition is studied. LÄS MER
17. Some studies within applied mathematics with focus on conditional symmetries of partial differential equations and bending waves in plates
Sammanfattning : This is thesis in mathematics with special focus on applied mathematics and mathematical physics. There is an introduction (in Svedish), two papers and two addendums to the first paper. The second paper is published in an international journal. LÄS MER
18. On the pricing equations of some path-dependent options
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers and a summary. The common topic of the included papers are the pricing equations of path-dependent options. LÄS MER
19. The Double Layer Potential Operator Through Functional Calculus
Sammanfattning : Layer potential operators associated to elliptic partial differential equations have been an object of investigation for more than a century, due to their contribution in the solution of boundary value problems through integral equations. In this Licentiate thesis we prove the boundedness of the double layer potential operator on the Hilbert space of square integrable functions on the boundary, associated to second order uniformly elliptic equations in divergence form in the upper half-space, with real, possibly non-symmetric, bounded measurable coefficients, that do not depend on the variable transversal to the boundary. 20. Compilation of mathematical models to parallel code
Sammanfattning : Generating parallel code from high-level mathematical models is in its general form an intractable problem. Rather than trying to solve this problem, a more realistic approach is to solve specific problem instances for limited domains. LÄS MER
