31. Design, Fabrication and Optimization of Thermal Radiation Detectors Based on Thin Polymer Membranes
Sammanfattning : The number of applications in which infrared radiation sensors are used is increasing. In some applications, the cost of the sensor itself is an issue, and simple solutions are thus required. In this thesis, the investigations have related to the use of thin polymer membranes in thermal infrared sensors, such as bolometers and thermopiles. LÄS MER
32. Low temperature difference power systems and implications of multi-phase screw expanders in Organic Rankine Cycles
Sammanfattning : New and old data on screw expanders operating with 2-phase mixtures in the admission line has been combined to enable the first public correlation of adiabatic expansion efficiency as a function of entry vapour fraction. Although not yet perfected, these findings have enabled an entirely new approach to the design and optimisation of Organic Rankine Cycles, ORCs. LÄS MER
33. Fabrication and Characterization of Photon Radiation Detectors
Sammanfattning : This thesis involves a study the fabrication and characterization of photon radiation detectors. The focus has been to develop and improve the performance of optical measurement systems, but also to reduce their cost. The work is based on the study of two types of detectors, the position sensitive detector and the thermal detector. LÄS MER
34. Alternative electronic packaging concepts for high frequency electronics
Sammanfattning : The aim of the research work presented here, is to contribute to the adaptation of electronic packaging towards the needs of high frequency applications. As the field of electronic packaging stretches over several very different professional areas, it takes an interdisciplinary approach to optimize the technology of electronic packaging. LÄS MER
35. Reduction of prime energy consumption in the Middle East by GSHP systems
Sammanfattning : The global energy consumption, which increased ~84% during last thirty years, exceeded 1.4.1011 MWh in 2008. It is projected to increase another ~39% until 2030. LÄS MER
