  1. 1. Modelling Bidding Behaviour in Electricity Auctions : Supply Function Equilibria with Uncertain Demand and Capacity Constraints

    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Business and economics; supply function equilibrium; asymmetry; uniqueness; oligopoly; capacity constraint; uniform-price auction; pay-as-bid auction; discriminatory auction; wholesale electricity market; Ekonomi; Business and economics; Ekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : In most electricity markets, producers submit supply functions to a procurement uniform-price auction under uncertainty before demand has been realized. In the Supply Function Equilibrium (SFE), every producer commits to the supply function that maximises his expected profit given the bids of competitors. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Research on auctions that involve more than one identical item for sale was,almost non-existing in the 90’s, but has since then been getting increasing attention. External incentives for this research have come from the US spectrum, sales, the European 3G mobile-phone auctions,  and Internet auctions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Agents, auctions and interactions: Modelling markets for ecosystem services and renewable energy

    Författare :Liv Lundberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Market interactions; Cobweb model; Auctions for renewable energy; Environmental Policy; Renewable Energy; Payment for Ecosystem Services; Land-use competition; Bioenergy; Auctions; Agent-based modelling;

    Sammanfattning : If we are to mitigate climate change and tackle other pressing environmental issues such as biodiversity loss, environmental policies will be crucial. The papers in this thesis all focus on how individual behaviour and lack of information affects the outcome of environmental policy, using agent-based models where individual actors and their behaviour are explicitly modelled.
