  1. 16. Cerebral oedema after reperfusion therapy in patients with ischaemic stroke : predictors, outcomes and treatment

    Författare :Magnus Thorén; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Reperfusion therapy by intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) and/or endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) are established treatments in ischaemic stroke. Cerebral oedema (COED), caused by dysfunction the blood brain barrier (BBB), is common early after acute ischaemic stroke (AIS), can aggravate the symptoms and worsen the prognosis. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Environmental assessment of bottom ash pre-treated with zero valent iron

    Författare :Mirja Nilsson; Josef Mácsik; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Waste Science and Technology; Avfallsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Bottom ash has similar properties as crushed rocks and gravel, andcould replace some of the 40 million tonnesof virgin material used for road constructions each year.However, results presented in the literature indicate thatthe leaching of e.g. Cr, Cu, Mo, Pb and Zn can cause athreat to the sur rounding environment if the materialis used as it is. 3. 18. Preparation and optical characterisation of antireflection coatingsand reflector materials for solar energy systems

    Författare :Per Nostell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Solid State Physics; fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Sammanfattning : An angle-resolved scatterometer and an integrating sphere for reflectance measurements at oblique angles of incidence have been designed and evaluated. The integrating sphere has a centre-mounted sample holder and the detector sits at the end of the sample holder and therefore always faces the same sphere wall area. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Development and Characterization of Large Area Pressure Sensors and Sitting Posture Monitoring Systems

    Författare :Jawad Ahmad; Johan Sidén; Henrik Andersson; Leena Ukkonen; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : With the emergence of the Internet and rapid development of science and technology over the past few decades, many individuals worldwide now rely on the Internet to conduct daily activities ranging from education, business and creativity to communication and shopping. As we tend to spend more and more time on the Internet and engage less in physical activities, this persistent behaviour could result in some health-related issues within a relatively short period of time. 5. 20. Histopathological and immunocytochemical studies in age-associated dementias : the importance of rigorous histopathological criteria for classification of progressive dementia disorders

    Författare :Irina Alafuzoff; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Dementia is an age-associated organic brain disorder, recognizable by the essential features of psychological or behavioral abnormality associated with permanent dysfunction of the brain interfering with social and occupational functioning.There are two clinical and three histopathological forms of dementia 1) primary degenerative dementia, (PDD), or Alzheimer's dementia/Senile dementia of Alzheimers type (AD/SDAT) which is associated with clinical features of uniform progression and insidious onset of symptoms and histopathologically i- dentified by the occurrence of neurofibrillary tangles (NFT) and senile/neuritic plaques (SP/NP) in various cortical and subcor- tical regions; 2) vascular dementia, or multi-infarct dementia (MID), which is associated with clinical features of stepwise progress and patchy distribution of deficits, and histopathologically identified by the occurrence of multiple large and/or small haemorrhagic and/or ischaemic infarcts in various cortical and subcortical regions and 3) intermediate form of dementia or "mixed” ("combined") dementia (AD-MID), which is histopatho- logically associated with the coexistance of symptoms and lesions observed in AD/SDAT and MID, and clinically referred to the MID group.
