    Författare :Eakaphun Bangyeekhun; Anders Tunlid; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Zoophysiology; Crayfish; Parasite; Oomycete; Prophenoloxidase; Peroxinectin; Aphanomyces astaci; Psorospermium haecheli; White spot syndrome virus; Zoofysiologi; Animal physiology; Zoofysiologi; biologisk beroendeforskning; Biological Research on Drug Dependence;

    Sammanfattning : The crayfish plague refractory crayfish, Pacifastacus leniusculus, which can harbour the fungal parasite within melanotic sheath, are found to constitutively express the gene encoding for prophenoloxidase (proPO) after mimicking parasite attack. In contrast, the susceptible crayfish, Astacus astacus, responds to the parasite by increased levels of proPO transcript, particularly in the semigranular haemocytes. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Characterisation of Some Immune Genes in the Black Tiger Shrimp, Penaeus monodon

    Författare :Kallaya Sritunyalucksana; C. J. Secombes; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; fysiologisk mykologi; Physiological Mycology;

    Sammanfattning : The molecular mechanisms of the immune system in shrimp, Penaeus monodon, are completely unknown, despite its economic importance as an aquaculture species, especially in Asia and Latin America. The genes and their gene products involved in the prophenoloxidase activating system, which is considered to be a non-self recognition and defence system in many invertebrates, have been isolated and characterised in shrimp. 3. 3. Characterisation of some iron proteins in Drosophilia melanogaster and Pacifastacus leniusculus

    Författare :Maria I. Lind; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; fysiologisk mykologi; Physiological Mycology;

    Sammanfattning : The cDNA cloning of the 76-kDa protein, an immune protein from crayfishhaemocytes, shows that it is similar to a family of haem-containing peroxidases.In addition to its cell adhesion activity it has also peroxidase activity, and theprotein was named peroxinectin. The cell adhesion is probably mediated by aKGD-motif present in peroxinectin. LÄS MER
