  1. 31. X-ray microcomputed tomography (µCT) as a potential tool in Geometallurgy

    Författare :Pratama Istiadi Guntoro; Yousef Ghorbani; Jan Rosenkranz; Matthew Pankhurst; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; X-ray microcomputed tomography; geometallurgy; automated mineralogy; ore characterization; Mineral Processing; Mineralteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years, automated mineralogy has become an essential tool in geometallurgy. Automated mineralogical tools allow the acquisition of mineralogical and liberation data of ore particles in a sample. These particle data can then be used further for particle-based mineral processing simulation in the context of geometallurgy. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Traceability in continuous ore beneficiation processes using process mineralogy signatures

    Författare :Pejman Oghazi; Terje Malvik; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Sammanfattning : Traceability is the means to identify and follow real or imaginary lots through a process chain. It gives the opportunity to back-track a chain of events, or to predict process outcomes given the origin of a lot. Traceability can be used in different areas, e.g. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Geochemical and Mineralogical Characterization of Waste Rocks for Preliminary Mine Drainage Quality Prediction

    Författare :Teemu Karlsson; Lena Alakangas; Päivi Kauppila; Berndt Lottermoser; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mine waste characterisation; mine drainage water; ARD; NRD; aqua regia extraction; ABA test; NAG test; SEM mineralogy; sulfide minerals; risk assessment; Applied Geochemistry; Tillämpad geokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Acid or neutral rock drainage (ARD or NRD) with its attendant elevated concentrations of harmful elements presents one of the main challenges related to the management of waste rocks. Low-quality drainage is a particular issue with respect to mineral deposits containing sulfide minerals, of which pyrite and pyrrhotite are especially prone to produce acidic drainage when exposed to oxygen and water. 4. 34. Development of a geometallurgical framework for iron ores - A mineralogical approach to particle-based modeling

    Författare :Mehdi Parian; Pertti Lamberg; Jan Rosenkranz; Julie Hunt; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Geometallurgy; process simulation; breakage characterization; ore texture; iron ore; modal mineralogy;

    Sammanfattning : The demands for efficient utilization of ore bodies and proper risk management in the mining industry have resulted in a new cross-disciplinary subject called geometallurgy. Geometallurgy connects geological, mineral processing and subsequent downstream processing information together to provide a comprehensive model to be used in production planning and management. 5. 35. Enhanced phosphorus removal from wastewater using virgin and modified slags : performance, speciation and mechanisms

    Författare :Minyu Zuo; Gunno Renman; Jon Petter Gustafsson; Lars Lövgren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; AOD; EAF; BFS; Calcium phosphate; XANES; slag mineralogy; Mark- och vattenteknik; Land and Water Resources Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Argon oxygen decarburization slag (AOD) was tested in batch and column experiments to investigate its phosphorus (P) removal performance. The effects of factors such as AOD dose, initial P concentration of the feeding solution, and aging on the P removal ability of the slags were analyzed. LÄS MER
