  1. 11. Urban Sound Planning - An attempt to bridge the gap

    Författare :Laura Estévez Mauriz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; prediction methods; road traffic noise; traffic dynamics; Urban sound planning; quiet side; urban systems; citizen participation; urban strategies;

    Sammanfattning : Cities are constantly between transition and adaptation, where current urban development needs a consistent strategic solution capable of understanding and including the relationships between urban form, environment and urban life. Awareness of the quality of the urban environment is leading the vision on the resilience and sustainability of the built environment, highlighting the importance of a multidisciplinary urban framework. 2. 12. Dynamic soil-structure interaction of simply supported high-speed railway bridges

    Författare :Johan Lind Östlund; Jean-Marc Battini; Andreas Andersson; Mahir Ülker-Kaustell; Rui Calçada; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Dynamic soil-structure interaction; Railway bridge; Impedance function; Soil dynamics; High-speed train; Structural Engineering and Bridges; Bro- och stålbyggnad;

    Sammanfattning : Research performed on the subject of dynamic soil-structure interaction (SS) concerning railway bridges is presented in this thesis with the focus on simply supported railway bridges supported by shallow foundations in soil strata on bedrock. The research aims to obtain insight into the SSI of high-speed railway bridges and to provide recommendations on how to model the soil-bridge system from a design perspective. LÄS MER

  3. 13. On System Dynamics as an Approach for Manufacturing Systems Development

    Författare :Gary Linnéusson; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; system dynamics; manufacturing systems development; operational; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Teknik; Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Improvement work in manufacturing industry usually focuses on the utilisation of equipment. System dynamics simulation is a potential tool for increasing the utilisation of systems. By using group model building and simulation it facilitates a common view and better informed decisions for change. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Human-structure interaction effect on the dynamic response of footbridges : An analytical and experimental study

    Författare :Daniel Colmenares; Raid Karoumi; Andreas Andersson; Federica Tubino; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; footbridges; dynamics; human induced loads; human structure interaction.; Bro- och stålbyggnad; Structural Engineering and Bridges;

    Sammanfattning : Lightweight, slender and lightly damped footbridges are often susceptible to HumanInduced Loads (HILs) when pedestrian step frequencies coincide with the naturalfrequencies of the structure. For vertical vibrations, this can compromise the serviceabilitylimit state of the system. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Modern railway infrastructures, especially bridges, are exposed to significant vibrations with potential safety implications. In this context, previous studies have shown the inconsistency and inadequacy of some conventional design methods necessitaing them to be improved. The assessment of safety inherently deals with uncertainties. LÄS MER
