    Sammanfattning : This dissertation examines Swedish writing centers’ pedagogical positions in relation to surrounding conditions through a case study of organization, attitudes and learning potential in a pedagogical collaboration project on writing with many multilingual students.     Sammanfattning : The Discourse of Oratory: The New Rhetoric and Romantic Writing is a study of the cultural anxieties about the power of public speaking that pervaded the mid eighteenth to early nineteenth centuries. Its argument is that those anxieties formed a discursive center for two of the most important forces in the history of British letters and literary studies -- Romanticism and the New Rhetoric -- and that those forces engaged it primarily through a shared concern with the rise of religious evangelism.     Sammanfattning : The chief aim of this thesis is to investigate the use of language called poetry during the second half of the 20th century and how the writing subject is implicated in it. Building on the theoretical perspectives enabled by Michel Foucault’s late work on the technologies of the self, I analyze the practices of writing in John Ashbery’s, Inger Christensen’s and Yves Bonnefoy’s poetry.     Sammanfattning : The dissertation addresses the problem if Johann Gottfried Herder had a method when he composed his works. The overwhelming majority of scholars says no and describes him as a restless author who reworks manuscripts; digressing and repeating himself; leaning on others rather than writing a monographic work on his own – someone who does not write complete and structured works, and therefore is seen as a precursor in history rather than occupying a place in it.
